Von Pearson vs Cam Sutton

Can't say that until we see the on field performance.

He may not be the athletic freak cp was but i do believe he may be a more polished and productive college wr. Only time will tell!

You guys are getting your hopes up, if he ever cuts cross the whole field and outruns the entire team (including a top defensive back) then I'll make a topic and say I was wrong. But I do not see first round grade on him like CP had, nor do I see any of the accolades from other coaches or media outlets like CP had. Chavis said it best (paraphrasing) "He may be the best WR I've ever seen."

Sammy Watkins played last yr. He's a CP type receiver. The NCAA will see plenty of CP's throughout the next 15 yrs. we as vol fans may not see another CP in Orange in the next 15 yrs though.

Sammy Watkins isn't even in the same ballpark athletically as CP. Again. CP is a once in a decade or more type athlete. He's on the bottom end of the class of talent for guys in college like Berry, Tebow, Clowney, etc.

Nobody should say "he's another CP" or even "He's CP like" because nobody ever says "He's just like Berry" or "He's so much like Tim Tebow!" let alone just a year after they graduated.

Sammy is probably a better receiver. Athletically CP is pretty unique.

VP probably doesn't have the same unique blend of speed, vision, and instincts that made CP so dangerous, but from what we've seen he may run better routes and have better hands.

He could very well have a similar impact albeit with a different skill set.

CP is a one of a kind freakazoid, he would have been worth 2-3 more wins last season by himself. True, he's not a polished receiver but he's polished at making 11 defenders hunt for their jock strap.

Watkins is a much better pure receiver than CP. Pearson will probably be a better WR than CP was.

we might finally be able to flip a little screen out there and see VP break it big. Treadwell and Matthews caught 50% of their passes that way if not more.

Yeah someone has some serious closing speed at the very end of that video clip, was wondering who that was... Moseley? Heard he is a burner.

Yes it was Moseley. And oh my... he was playing corner opposite Sutton and he almost caught up with VP. That's incredible speed!

I have a feeling VP is going to make us all faintly remember CP as a freakish athlete yet an unpolished receiver. VP runs crisp routes and his YAC with his moves look amazingly natural and easy.

Easy.

I can see us beating Georgia and Vandy with CP as we almost beat them without such a dynamic player. Especially Vandy with North being injured and Pig being inconsistent. We really needed a consistent WR against Vandy. Croom stepped up, but a game too late against Kentucky.

And, who knows. Perhaps having CP on offense against Florida would have given our offense a much needed spark. We wouldn't have needed a QB. Just run sweeps and WR screens to CP.

Bama, Auburn and Mizzou games wouldn't have changed. Nor Oregon .

It's having receivers like VP, North, Croom and Malone that will make our DB's better too. Cam will be fine and learn how to handle guys in a game going up against our guys in practice.

The fact that Cam handled the entire SEC last season as a true freshman makes me think that VP is going to special!

Great point. Plus, it'll cut the other way too. With Cam and some of the very fast/quick CBs we now have on campus (Moseley, Payne, Jones, Williams), it should stretch our WR corp and make them better as well. Good things are coming boys..... we just have to have a little bit of patience over the next 2 years.... but I believe really good things are coming.

This I do not disagree with at all. But, CP can learn to be a better WR. You can't learn to be the physical freak he is. His physicality allows him to be a better player, certainly a more unique player by far.

read my sentence again. I was referring to berry and tebow in that sentence. I may be wrong, but I think both have degrees (and one certainly graduated). Besides, the NCAA probably already stole my sentence to tell people ALL their athletes graduate <_<
