I called Athlon and it seems they had a bunch of calls saying that there was cheating going on. I told him that i didnt think either side was cheating but those calls cost us dearly. Nevermind that we worked like dogs all weekend to get those points up there. Hell we were neck and neck when it hit 100,000.
Whoever called should be proud.

I think that it might have been one of the girls. I know most of the people on the North Texas site and none of us called, that is for sure - we just thought you were kicking our butts, plain and simple. There evidently was an error in the java script that you could vote multiple times with one code by hitting a button over and over... they closed the loophole, won't do you any good to use it anymore if you were , lol... unfortunately, I wasn't as computer versed as you guys or I would have used it, too. Maybe it wasn't even someone from your board - the cheerleader, or even a couple of friends of hers were probably voting their buns off. Anyways, I bet that you guys catch back up - it is only 20K votes.... you got that in like 24 hours last Sunday.

I told them that no one was cheating, we had all voted as hard as we could, and to be thuthful, i liked the banter both sides was having. I am just sick that some people would cause this kind of problem.

They have posted an even stronger statement now - threatening to disqualify the cheerleaders if more votes come in that way:

NOTICE: We have discovered an issue with the voting process for Sideline Spirit that has allowed some inappropriate voting. Athlon Sports tracks the ip address, the exact time (to the millisecond), and participant vote that was cast as part of our vote-auditing system. Using this transcript we have adjusted the vote totals to remove fraudlent votes for a number of participants.

Everyone at Athlon Sports is committed to making this competition as fair as possible. Please email us at spirit@athlonsports.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Please note that Athlon Sports reserves the right to disqualify any candidate seen to be benefiting from exploitation of our web site or voting system.

well heck, if they count how many times I was hitting vote during that Gawd awful lag yesterday and Sunday, then I guess I'm the one that racked up the 50,000 votes. Oh please.....

If they had a system problem, it is not the girls' problem or any or the voters problem. It is their web developers problem! Don't blame anyone else. Learn to code!

I was so lagged yesterday that i rebooted to see if it was me, but it was the ton of voters that were going at it.

Looks like there is a lot of fishy stuff going on, seems like if you clicked a bunch of times " Tx is warning their people not to use the exploit" that it is cheating. They have taken away our lead and let Tx up by 23,000. It seems someone compalined that we were cheating. We need to get it together and start voting like crazy.
