Voting for Obama

He is 18 and Romney probably reminds him of his dad.

Scary that you know my age. Of course, I really don't know much about politics. Most people my age don't. But, I feel like from what I've read, heard, seen that Obama is who I'd rather vote for . I support his stance on supporting the expansion of the pell grant loans, also his stance on gay marriage. I guess I support his social stances mainly. I also was turned off by what Romney said about the 47%.

Solid reasons I guess, but at your age I would be looking at my financial future. More importantly, which candidate actually has a record of creating jobs.

Social issues are just smoke screens for the uniformed.

Wait, you do not pay taxes yet you are supporting the candidate who will give away more government 'benefits'...and, you are turned off by what Romney said about the 47%? Shocking.

Our country is like a college kid without much income using those visa cards offers like Vince Young. How's that working out.

Anyone want to convince me otherwise?

He added $6 Trillion of debt which YOU will be paying back when you are in your 30-40s yet he can't get UE under 8% because his administration is loading up regulations which means less jobs available and lower wages for you when you graduate

Romney was replying to a supporter about how he was going to win the election and Mitt replied honestly about where he was going to focus his attention.

You illustrate his point beautifully.

Let me ask you this, what to you think of BHO's open mike moment when he told the Russian president to tell Putin to be patient that he would have more flexibility after the upcoming election?

What do you think he ment?

I'll keep the change.
+1

The 'dumbing down of America' (educational) program has to be the most successful propaganda campaign in history, or at least since Hitler's Germany.

You would be example A.

How do you like the change that you will spend your whole life as a virtual slave paying off interest on the debt O is piling up?

Anyone want to convince me otherwise?

If you are this far along and would still vote for Obama I'm not sure there is much hope for you being able to think things through.

what have you heard/read/seen to convince you to vote for Obama? just curious.

also curious why his stance on gay marriage matters. it took him over 3 years to adopt dick cheney's stance. in other words, it was neither remarkable nor brave.

He has taken the subtle and not so subtle hints from virtually all media outlets that he should vote for Obama.

No other reason to vote for him.

Voting for social stances while this country gets buried in debt sounds like a solid plan. Oh to be young again.

I'll stop you here. If you don't know much about politics or economics, you should do the country a service and not vote.

Most people my age don't.

I am in your age bracket; I agree.

But, I feel like from what I've read, heard, seen that Obama is who I'd rather vote for.

What have your heard, read, or seen? What sources was it from? Did you personally vet it or did you just take it on face value?

Basically, have you done any personal research?

I support his stance on supporting the expansion of the pell grant loans,

So you believe those who did not attend college but pay taxes should pay for your college? That is what a pell grant effectively does. Why should students not be responsible for their own schooling?

also his stance on gay marriage.

You do realize he has changed his stance on this. Just an fyi.

I guess I support his social stances mainly.

If you agree with him on social issues, you should check out Gary Johnson. Gary Johnson is the Libertarian presidential candidate. Libertarians are socially liberal but fiscally conservative.

I also was turned off by what Romney said about the 47%.

It depends, what exactly did you not like about it?

Different people disagree with it for different reasons.

Social issues shouldn't really matter when the country's economy blows. PLEASE don't vote for Obama for social issues alone.

Only thing that can change your mind is to be an accountable responsible American. That, hopefully, will happen with age. Otherwise you, and others who think like this, will suck this country into Mexico.

This thread got personal quick. Some of you make valid arguments, others were just rude. Watching 60 minutes now, and Obama impressed me way more than Romney.
