Voting for Obama

This thread got personal quick. Some of you make valid arguments, others were just rude. Watching 60 minutes now, and Obama impressed me way more than Romney.

First thing you should know, they can say whatever they want. You have to look at the record.

Personally i see 0 difference in Obama or Romney and will be voting 3rd party or writing in a candidate.

I agree with the others that have stated, you should not vote. There is nothing quite as dangerous as an un-informed voter.

FNC matches their numbers. Like I said, it's kind of moot since people will go to whatever their preferred website is, and most of the time that means somewhere that will reaffirm whatever view that person has.

Everybody lives in socially and informationally cloistered conditions now. People like Vol Main will catch MSNBC on tv, read blogs like ThinkProgress and Daily KOS because all those sources are basically progressive talking points on loop, while most conservatives will watch Fox News and read blogs like Breitbart because they are basically conservative talking points on loop.

You're lying through your keyboard. "People like Vol Main"(whatever that is supposed to mean) do not "read blogs like ThinkProgress and Daily KOS," because I do not read ThinkProgress and Daily KOS. I do my own work, Milo.

I'm in college now and it blows my mind the reasons people vote for Obama. The only people who vote for Romney are in the school of business (mainly economics), funny how that works out. I am dead serious when I say this, when people my age run this country we are doomed.

Scary that you know my age. Of course, I really don't know much about politics. Most people my age don't. But, I feel like from what I've read, heard, seen that Obama is who I'd rather vote for . I support his stance on supporting the expansion of the pell grant loans, also his stance on gay marriage. I guess I support his social stances mainly. I also was turned off by what Romney said about the 47%.

Don't let anyone on here tell you who or not to vote for or to stay home and not vote.

Let Google be your friend, do some research on the candidates.

Go to the candidates websites and read where they say they stand on the issues.

Take a good look at their records. Neither candidate is being 100% truthful. Their record shows who they really are, imo.

make sure you watch the debates, the first one is next Wednesday.

Get as informed as you possible can and vote for the candidate you think will be the best leader of this nation.

Also keep in mind the House of Representives and Senate.

You honestly come off as some dude that just walked out of freshman social studies class taught by a bleeping idiot and you immediately puke whatever nonsense you've just been taught as fast as possible so you don't forget it.

I add to bham's advice -- Ask on which side of the class divide you stand, and realize that someone on the other side telling you that more tax breaks for them is going to help you is a flat out lie.

yet Obama is going to (already has) raise taxes on both sides. If you're just picking between 2 it seems a pretty easy choice IMO

Romney would reduce taxes on the wealthiest and increase them on the middle class. That is the exact opposite of what should be done.

still just a guess on what Romney's plan would do

However Obama has already raised taxes and he earns your independent vote. Funny how that works

No, that is dishonestly how you choose to think, while you evade the facts at issue by making me the issue with foolishly false personal insults.

Is someone insulting you personally if they tell you that you have bad breath?

Actions speak louder than words. He may be a charismatic speaker, but it lacks substance considering his record.

did anyone trying to make these arguments believe for a second that the OP was remotely interested in being objective about this?

It doesn't appear that he's quite as moderate as Vol Main and Gibbs.

LOL, you're the last person that needs to give advice on any political subject. Hahaha

So you would support the plan to redistribute grades so everyone has a 2.5? That means if you are getting 3.5s or 4.0s some of your points would go to some of your lower performing classmates in order to even things out.

Nope. Said your teacher was an idiot. I came off exactly how I wanted to come off. Are you?

Child, I don't have a teacher. In case you can't figure it out, that means that I took my degree a long time ago. You are on filter as of now, so your jibber jabber won't appear on my screen again.

that's right. sheezy didn't earn them. sheezy didn't build the university, or educate the professors, or single handedly pay to maintain the facilities. good grades don't come from being smarter or working harder. a lot of people are smart and a lot of people work hard. etc. etc.
