Walter Nolen question

You don’t think we outbid everyone for Nico?
Frankly, I would assess those risk-reward propositions in favor of Nico.

No one outside his circle knows what his actual deal is. However QB skills seem to be a lot more predictable than DT skills. The risks of Nolen being a bust seem to be significantly higher than Nico being a bust. There are more than enough talented DT's to not take that risk.

If he wants to come back to Tennessee you don't turn him away. Todays recruits are being lured by lucrative deals and the young man and his family went with the best deal for the market value. His journey has been chronicled and I'm sure CJH and CRG would address everything, if they sign off then I'm good.
We getting recruits that care about getting better. But if money and the highest bidder is all that is important stay where your at. A@M went all money and now the young players aren’t panning out. Maybe they will in time, I don’t want lazy it‘a all about me players. If you produce teams NIL will be there. Paying crazy money to a 18 year old that hasn’t played a down in college is risky and the A@M model that everyone clamored over is proving to be high cost no reward. I’ll trust our staff on who we pursue. We seem to be getting players that have good overall attitudes and enjoy playing for there teammates and coaches. GBO!!!!!

It’ll be on Walters in the end. One time transfer, here (next school) for two years before he declares. Schools don’t turn down kids like him, especially if you know he can’t transfer again. Also, his brothers in play so there’s a long game to Warren.
Wrong! If Nolan wants to go highest bidder again he won’t be at Tennessee. Lots of DT’s out there and Nolan is far from the only one. Garner and staff are not going to spend a ton of energy and time on him. GBO!

I only watched him against AC and he was a non-factor. I wish him well… somewhere else.

IF….Tennessee were to take him it would be totally on Rodney Garner’s terms and not some handler. That is the reason I think he shows up at either Bama, Memphis, or Ole Miss. The first because of salary and the second two because of proximity to Memphis.
Bama isn't too far from Memphis, either.

I saw him a couple times. Both times he seemed to take half of the plays off, even more in the second half. He could make an impact when he tried. Then he would just stand up and occupy a blocker the next couple of plays.

I wouldn’t under estimate what Tennessee is willing to pay. We dropped 8M for a QB. I’m sure our offer will be more than generous if Walter and Tennessee speak. I don’t disagree on DT being plentiful, just our willing to pay for who we want. Tennessee was there until the end with him, so it’s not as if they’re bad blood just a new staff coming in late.

We didn’t drop 8 million for Nico

You sure about that? We played the game. Is Nico viewed differently now for potentially going to the highest bidder? 350K after he signs being the state of CA he’s allowed to get paid almost immediately

Nico Iamaleava details plans to enroll early at Tennessee
Where's your proof that we did? Post the link that shows actual proof, not someone else saying they heard it from his best friend's girlfriend's dad's mechanic.

Looking like this one will be in play after the season is over.
As long as the kid wants to win. Willing to work hard.

Would LOVE to have him.

But once AGAIN...that would mean he's playing for a different team.
The kid has played for a different team every year for the past 4 years

If Nico Iamaleava is the $8 million QB recruit, he's the best gamble
5-star 2023 CFB recruit reportedly lands $8 million NIL deal: Media, fans react

We will find out soon, he can get his first payment once he signs with Tennessee. I'm a bit surprised that this many people still don't believe we are playing the game.

True. Very true

But we're talking about Nolens attitude and work ethic.

So far, Nico looks to be the most competitive and hard working QB in his class.

Nico better be the hardest working competitor in the weight room as soon as his HS season is over. He seriously needs to bulk up before he enters an SEC football season.

Like I stated earlier, he won't be able to transfer again if he does indeed decide he wants to hit the portal. Things are not good in College Station and he's let it be known to those who he keeps in touch with in Tennessee.

Certainly, A&M has not met his expectations. Several sports pundits are predicting that there will be massive defections to the transfer portal from A&M. Will Nolan be among them?
