I disagree with you on one level. Florida is not a small gene pool. Muschump can go out his back door and throw a rock and hit a roster of 5 star recruits. Unlike UT he doesn't have to work that hard at recruiting. Oregon does it with flash and big money (Saw your facilities this year while I was there, and... as the kids say... omg) Tennessee has to do it with tradition. That is hard when your tradition was long ago, and the powerhouses of today (Bama excepted) are recent arrivals there.
But in the second paragraph, it is my contention that FU will not play outside the state or at least south of the Mason Dixon line is that they know that while they are in Florida, they are going to have mild weather for the majority of their games. Foley doesn't have the guts to schedule a game up north against a top 10 in November.
It's just too easy to be a FU fan when they are winning, but hard to find one when they aren't.
Right...so in addition to playing South Carolina and FSU in November, UF should mix in a road date up north against "a Top 10 team". That rules out everyone except Ohio State.
Maybe we should schedule a game at Lambeau against the Packers.
What a gutless punk Jeremy Foley is.
