This being a message board, anyone can draft a post based upon supposed insider information and when challenged on such inside information can simply say that it is confidential and/or the source cannot be revealed. According to BTO, Hart has supposedly said "off the record" to certain people (unnamed) that there's "no chance of CBP returning". Another insider information post.

While I do not believe that we will see CBP back at UT except on the opposite bench I find BTO's assertion laughable.

You confuse us wanting mediocrity to being realistic about a situation. What's funny about this is I was known for being a very competitive person growing up, and friends would tell you that- in games, video games, school, etc. But we are fans of a school. Yes, the goal is to make the tournament in basketball, but it is not going to happen every year. It just isn't. I now have two young kids to raise to worry about, and that is more important than getting bent out of shape for not making the tournament. Just isn't as important to me. I always think it's funny that if one takes my stance, then I am accepting mediocrity. Just not true.

Being realistic and whether a season is a success or not is two different things.....you dont get participation trophies in major college athletics......

Using my daughter as an example again....the other day she scored 20 points but lost.....the team she played against was overwhelmingly better than hers.....I let her know that she played good and hard but it wasnt a success....she has to lead her team, make others around her better and that winning is all that matters.....next game they upset a team much better than them....that is a success.

And I have never said I don't want to win. It has never come from me. But I am not going to continue on with this. I guess we all have different views, but this "participation" trophy stuff is crap. Going to extremes with that stupid argument. Hopefully, we can all enjoy a win today.

I will be too and if we spank that gator a** it will be a success, a one point loss and its a failure....u dont like participation trophy but what do u win by being better than prognostications. Go Vols

Is Bruce all some of you can think of as a replacement for Cuonzo, if indeed that has to happen? Coach K and Jim Boeheim have resumes that make Bruce's look sick. There are others. Sure, Bruce is a good coach, and if he'd stayed who knows what kind of a resume he could've put together. But the two guys I mentioned probably already know that having recruits over to the house for a backyard BBQ is against NCAA rules, and they probably would've known that just admitting it would've been a secondary at worst. They also would've known lying about it, and conspiring to have others lie about it, was not a great idea. So Bruce can talk about how 'he's made mistakes', but I see him as a serial idiot. The thing between Iowa/Illinois and the UT thing. There's always going to be a 'thing' with Bruce. I don't want 'things' with coaches. K and Jimmy B have also managed to be very successful without some of the antics Bruce pulled. John Wooden never painted his body and showed up to a UCLA girls BB game yet he managed to do pretty well. What I'm saying is, antics are not key and they are not a prerequisite to success. They are fodder at best.

It's pretty simple really...

There are 345 div I teams.
There are 68 teams that make up the tournament.
In your view, should TN be in the top 20% of div I teams?

In academics 80% will get you a "C" grade.

Although that would be a little scary)......im all for that and I like how u think. As for the theatrics, I couldnt care less either way.....the only thing that matters is winnng.

What percentage is made up of high majors, you'd have to remove the auto bids that wouldn't get in without conference tourney.

So question should probably be more like, should Tennessee be in the top 10% of div. 1 teams?

So coach K never had "things" during his career? The ignorance of people on this board is astounding. Many years now and the NCAA still has not made a ruling, I guess it was swept under the rug. Coach K is as dirty as the rest. As is Boeheim.
By the way it was not illegal to have recruits over to his house for a BBQ. It was illegal to have a recruit over that was a junior (It is no longer illegal now.).

I'll split the rent with him. Give me the list of coaches who will win SEC championships, be a perennial Top 10 team, get the team to a #1 ranking, a #2 seed in the NCAA tourney, get to the NCAA tourney every year he coaches at UT, gets the team to an Elite 8 & 2 pts from the Final 4. Who are they? I know BP isn't gettin rehired, so I'm sincerely asking.... who's gonna replicate his success at UT?
