Want to get a little more excited about our offense?

On Sunday night, Butch said on the radio that we've already had more big plays in practice this year than we did all of last year.

It was a pretty low bar to jump... Glad to see the updates from CBJ that show the intensity and focus on playmaking instead of the Dooley "lay back and wait for it to come to you" offense or defense. I guess to my way of thinking I had rather see some mistakes made by being aggressive and taking some chances as opposed to getting beat by playing everything safe. Hopefully some of the big plays were D and special teams.

Two things the center is not exactly snapping the ball in the shot gun like he should. We could have some turnovers right there if they don't start snapping better. Quarterbacks are overthrowing receivers for most of the balls on the ground. If they can get on target the WR's are gonna be tough to handle.

I've seen just as many drops by the receivers in the videos as I have missed passes. Or not stretching out that extra inch to pull one in. I know we talkin 'bout practice and all, but I've seen several situations where a receiver should be giving a little extra effort to pull in a deeper pass.

Folks need to realize that this is not all on the QB corps.

One of these days, Freak, I want to see you start an awful off season thread just to see if VN has the cajones to rake it across the coals like it does to the other bad threads!

Vol fans should have much more to cheer about and see more big plays from team 118's offense.
Pray the injury bug doesn't hit too hard!
Go Vols

Probably not, because I know I've started some bad threads in my day. :)

Why does most everything seem to be either or? The offense did good today so the defense must suck. The defense dominated today so the offense must suck. The fact that the offense is more explosive this year doesn't make out defense bad. Every positive don't have to have a negative does it?

I envision a few long rb runs. I miss those. Anyone know the longest run we had last year? I don't recall a bunch that we took to the house.

Neal went 60 yards vs ky. They said it was longest since cordiarrell Patterson went 67 in 2012.

Neal 47 yd run vs Austin peay, Neal 53 yd run and Lane 54 yd run vs S Ala, Neal 43 yd run vs ga, Neal 43 yd run vs ala, Dobbs 33 yd run vs mizz, Dobbs 32 yd run vs aub, Neal 60 yd run and Dobbs 40 yd run vs ky,
That my friends are all the runs longer than 25 yards last year.
Here's to a lot more than that in 2014, I raise my glass.

We just need our D to be good enough to get the other team off the field without TD's and we are going to win some games boys.... simple as that....

Did anyone watch the spring game? Offense was light years ahead of the previous spring. Equally, last years open practice was, meh. I expect to see equal improvement this year.
