Want to help Tennessee NIL (Spyre Sports)?

I’m still down for a $20 a month VN deal. Upgraded users get preferred access during heavy lag times (when big news breaks and this place crashes) and some kinda badge that’s shows up on our profile.

We could give each starting offensive lineman $200 a game for a 12 game season with only 50 users.

Could have different tiers:

$10 a month=walk on
$25 a month=VFL
$50 a month=Freak’s Finest (includes an autographed photo of Freak in his undies)

Could be a good deal for us "regular" fans...the ones who don't own an oil company, satellite TV service, some exclusive "farm," or have a campus building named after us. We shall see. Don't let us down, Spyre. #GBO

How is this even legal for "amateur " athletes

Amateur athletes is a term that will be forgotten very soon. Might as well strike it from your vocabulary. Within 10 years, NIL will filter down to high school and youth sports in some silly fashion.

I listened to the Swain event third hour today where he discussed Spyre and fans contributing and IMO it was pretty eye opening.

I had been on the fence about it because, you think what the hell would my $19.51 a month accomplish? But as Swain pointed out - if just 100k fans (approx the capacity of Neyland) make a single $20 donation a year, that’s 2 million dollars.

Then I thought hell, between Rivals, 247, and the Athletic, there was a time not that long ago I was paying more than $20 a month just for information on recruiting. Info that was rarely good to begin with - and that was posted elsewhere moments of being published at the subscription sites. (Shout out to those of you who do that btw!)

So - while it’s only 19.51 a month (paid for the year in full so maybe it’ll help land us some [more] help this year), I’m putting my money where my mouth is. And again - like voting - if you don’t do your part and you can’t complain about end results.

I know a lot of people are already signed up, and do a lot already to support this team. But I’d invite everyone who lives and breathes Tennessee football and are on the fence about this to seriously consider it. Our fan base is an asset not a lot of other schools can compete with. Let’s use it to our advantage.

/off soap box.

Recommendation...start county Tennessee Volunteers Sports Clubs and use those "clubs" to work with the State level program and University to promote athletes from those areas/counties and get the donors in touch with the receiving athletes. Some of this could be done in person and some on-line. Living 2 hour drive and time change from Knoxville makes getting there more and more difficult the older I get. Then there is the cost of overnight stays, tickets, etc. I want to support the University and athletes, students as well. Just need a way to make this a little more personal for those of us out here at a distance from UT Campus. Getting UTSI and other UT facilities to hold "Game Days" or show the game in a party atmosphere might be a good money maker and social setting for promoting Vols.

Go to Spyre and donate. Endorsed by Swain, Volquest and others. It’s legit.

If you want to join the 1951 club you get many perks. Go to this link. Password is “attack”

I'll renew my support for UT when I see UT trying to help itself. When I see our admin pull the stunts they've pulled and have us hamstrung in the portal, it doesn't inspire me to open my checkbook again.

I was one that didn’t think TN was behind in the NIL stuff. But it’s becoming clear that we are not only behind but woefully behind.
While I have not seen balance sheets for instance, I do believe what the talking heads @ VQ(AP,Hubbs), 247(Callahan), Swain etc. say, which has been posted numerous times of late. We are in way better shape with NIL than what most wish to believe.....YMMV

I hope you are right. But I just watched the most recent Talkin Vawls podcast on YouTube. They had one of Spyre sports guys (James Clawson) on to talk about NIL. Now he did say he believes we have big time donors ready. He also said that Neyor has a good NIL deal at TN. But he just wanted to stay in Texas.

Now to the weird part. Clawson was asked what can fans do? Well he talked about creating the 1951 club. He said their goal is to get 100k people paying $19.51 a month. That’s roughly 2 million a month and about 24 million a year. Then he said if that happened then they could take that 24 million and get the big donors to match that. That doesn’t really sound like we are in that good of shape. JMO.

They just updated the 1951 plan to include a 19.51 a month option called the Minister of Defense plan. Very affordable for everyone and you still get the best benefits

That’s awesome. I’ve heard of matching donations, but to double them is even better.

$20.22 Club could work too.
