Reagan's War on Drugs was a massive waste of money and gave us diminished civil liberties and militarized police. Our drug problems are worse today than then. But remember 'just say no',Yes. Very mild in fact. You may not have been around during the 70s oil embargo but we were having double digit inflation, gas stations were limiting gas if they had any. People were lining up for blocks just to buy a couple of gallons. Energy prices were rising daily. The President even ordered a national wage and price freeze. People like you thought America was finished and that OPEC was now in control of our every day lives. We came out of it stronger than when we went in.
You think we have drug problems today? I guess you don't remember Reagan's War on Drugs either.
Feel free to google: Reagan's War on Drugs, OPEC Oil Embargo and Reagans Wage and Price Freeze. Then decide for yourself if things are worse today.
Our national debt, divided populace, politicians, and corruption problems are worse today too. And we have a chance at a worse economy.
