When you rob a country of energy imports, especially a country like Japan, you should expect them to respond. The average country would not have had the means to respond the way Japan did.

What reason would they have had to hit the United States before than? We generally had good relations with Japan in the 20-30 years leading up to Pearl Harbor.

#1, Neither of those situations were of our concern.
#2, both Japan and Germany would have had their hands full trying to manage those empires. They would have been too preoccupied with local insurgencies and trying to maintain order in Europe and Asia to be worried about crossing the Atlantic or the Pacific to do anything with us.

So deciding not to sell oil to Japan freely in your eyes justifies Pearl Harbor and killing innocent people because they needed it to wage war? You are off the charts at this point. No wonder you bend over backwards justifying Russian atrocities

If it was just the US, that would have been one thing. But when the UK and the Dutch jumped in, now you have a concerted effort to rob them of energy supplies. This is no different than NATO/EU countries trying to gang up on a country and impose sanctions on them.

If Saudia Arabia chooses not to sell us any more oil, I would not support an invasion of them for that. Nor Russia, Iraq or whatever. Its bs when we pull Petro dollar bs for invading, but you think it's legit when it comes to actual goods?

They could. Problem is that Germany voluntarily chose to sanction Russian energy imports as part of the sanctions. So in your dumbazz analogy, that would be like Japan refusing to buy American oil and them bombing America because they wouldn't sell them oil.

It’s not an act of war to stop selling something you own to someone using it to rape and kill innocent people. No matter how you try to justify it. The US was correct in this case and the Nazis and Japs were evil and wrong
