I'll take a Western constitutional model puppet over a Soviet/Marxist or Islamofascist model about a 100 of 100 hundred times. Which has, incidentally, been the primary theaters of our puppetry.

I don't need U.S. perfection, but that we're the best of the blemished.

I think the best NATO can do at this point is to warn that if tactical nukes are deployed, that NATO will arm UAF with similar capability. This is the problem with being a modern day member of NATO; this should be a European problem but as member, you can't be half in. I'm against U.S. deploying troops, but would have favored NATO placing 2500 troops each of the remaining nations in Ukraine as a defensive force - outside the Donbas region - prior to Russian invasion, while letting Ukraine battle Russia in the Donbas.

But long before that, NATO should have pursued Russian entry into NATO when Putin was interested in membership during the early part of his tenure. Today, they can fast track insignificant Nordic nations, but basically told Russia to kick rocks and submit an application like everyone else, as though heavily nuked countries are like everyone else.

No, what it sounds like are facts, which you don't seem to like.

All those words are just words to make yourself feel better. I don't think you have to justify something, just stop acting like its different... its not.

There really isn't any difference, the only difference at this point is the United States holds the global printing press.

seeing so many ..conservatives sounding like tankies is just bizarre and I think most of us agree that our grandfathers wouldve been kicking some asses if they were still kicking around

Does that mean that Donjo checks "Russian" on a firearm purchase application? Never mind, that's not on there. I know because I filled one out recently. I guess the real question is does Donjo THINK that it should be on there, or on an application for a drivers license?

What? - you can't take 'yes' as a response to your own words? What manner of double-think is that; if I disagreed would we then be in agreement?

Russia is no model for what ails the U.S. Our affliction is that by basing liberty generally on the premise of protecting liberty individually, even anti-American citizens and groups have a voice. This is at once the risk and reward of said liberty, that enough of the populace may come to not value it, or see the risk. That's how the constitution was devised, purposely. This republic is the best chance for liberty's survival. If it fails here, any notion of classical liberalism dies with it, everywhere.

If you thought Putin's Russia a better model, you'd emigrate there and put your citizenship where your mouth is.
