War in Ukraine

Remember how @Rasputin_Vol labeled Ukrainians "terrorists" for daring to shoot at the bridge in Crimea? It was appalling, just ask him.

Weird how he's not saying anything about Russian missiles and artillery targeting power, water, schools, hospitals and other civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, day after day....

This has to be a mistake as he's shown himself to be an unbiased American spectator just calling it how he impartially sees it.

You can't believe this. They are running out of ammo and equipment and The West is about tapped out of being able to resupply any further. And as winter moves in, the appetite by the people in The West to continue this nonsense while their own countries are falling apart is going to drive either a change in policy or more regime change in Europe.

Also, Russia is mobilizing 300k soldiers to reinforce what they already have within the next few weeks. Ukraine and NATO (along with the US) would be hard pressed to match those numbers before winter.
While Russia has an unlimited supply of troops, weapons, ammunition, and civilian resolve to take Ukrainian land, obviously.

The whole 300k "soldiers" is what has me cracking up.

Bodies are not soldiers. Pootin is offering up these bodies as cannon fodder, it's sad.

Fortunately, any harm he causes is contained on this message board.

Relax, killer. At the end of the day, those lands have been Russian/Soviet far longer than there has ever been a Ukraine.
Then why didnt Russia keep the land? Either in the Revolution or the dissolution of the USSR? They had two chances to take it back, but didnt. But now, someone 100+ years later, wants to go back and hit the undo button? And everyone is supposed to be fine with it?

I think the citizens who voted in the referendums were the ones who hit the undo button.

Oh stop it. This isn't anything like a school yard bully. Russia and Ukraine had relatively good relations until the Obama State Department came in to disrupt things in 2013. The US has managed to get two closely related Slavic peoples to fight one anther just for the US to gain some hegemonic end game.
By pretty good relationship you mean Russia was the abusive husband and Ukraine was the meek wife that didnt fight back.

It's easily clear why Ukraine was so corrupt. And it wasnt to favor the west they werent particularly close with at the time.

All they have left in their tool bag are terrorist acts. They can't win heads up on the battlefield so they have to resort to the ISIS playbook.
Its war, the bridge was a military target. Get over yourself. Not like Russia has a clean record either.

And if they cant win on the battlefield how were they able to retake territory?

After they were invaded by the Russians and had their local officials kicked out. And oh yeah it was a people in an undefined region that didnt even know where all their vote was applying to. That doesnt even begin to pass the smell test.

Ugh what? There are almost 500k ACTIVE duty men in the US Army alone. The national guard is over 300k.

The consistent number I have seen for Ukraine is 500k deployed.

Russia wouldn't need to do that. But NATO is looking for any excuse to escalate.

The only real chance NATO has is to go nuclear. And even then, NATO wouldn't win... nor would Russia or any other living being on the planet.
Really? the nation that annexed land it couldnt even define in the middle of the war so that they could change the narrative to defending the motherland isnt looking to escalate? The same nation that just conscripted 300k men, tripling their overall strength, isnt desperate, or escalating?

Not even an attempt at a modicum of objectiveness.

Where are you getting this 100+ year nonsense? Ukraine and Russia were still in the same country until 1991. They were just different Soviet republics, which really didn't mean anything until the break up of the USSR.

Are you really this dense?

See this is where your flip flopping on Russia=USSR or not makes it impossible to have a discussion with you. If Russia is not the USSR, and the USR didnt exist, that means the RSR didnt exist either and lost their claims. If Russia was the USSR why did they give Ukraine the territory to administer, or let them keep it after 91?

The Republics absolutely did mean something. They were internally independent, with their own borders set, able to individually implement the orders of the Soviet. They made independent deals with the Russian SR and the other republics. They elected their own officials and representatives to send to the Soviet. And unlike the Dontesk Soviet Republic, USR was never folded into another Republic, and actually held continuous borders, role, and existence throughout the USSR.

Nothing in that invalidated their set borders under the Soviets after the Soviets disbanded.

And even if for some reason the dissolution of the USSR reset the republics borders, Russia didnt push for the land when it had a chance. They even SIGNED a treaty guaranteeing Ukraines border several years after Russia came back.

During the revolution Ukraine declared its independence and fought for it. Even the USR was an independent state from the Russian SR. And the Soviets granted Ukraine this land to administer, not the Russians. So it's not like the area wasnt thought about. So that's why I say it's been this way for 100 years.
