War in Ukraine

On intentionality versus an error, there just is no logic to it being on purpose. Why do it? Why launch three missiles at an obscure part of Poland. If it was to send a signal during the G20, why not say so? Why send it and appear to be discombobulated? Wouldn't you want it to look like a message being sent?

And why do it in this manner, which risks retaliaiton and escalation to kill two farmers?

I just have a hard time seeing Russia intentionally attack a card carrying NATO member with no apparent purpose or plan.

IMO the Russians will deny and blame someone else. Thus making them suspect. They have proved to be far dumber, and weaker, then anticipated. IMO it's just more proof of their general incompetence

You also voted for Biden, so its not a surprise you have a hard time with logical thinking.

Putin wants to bait these countries into invoking article 5. Then when NATO attacks, Putin can use his nukes. Hes trying to bait NATO allies into doing more than providing support from afar.

Idk. But invading a smaller country only to get embarrassed on the world stage doesn’t really show a great deal of high level thinking going on. So maybe it is just more dumbassery.

Why would he want a nuclear conflict with NATO? That's the end of him

Y’all make Poland sound strong. So can the US kinda back out now and let them and the Ukrainians mops this up?
Poland is well equipped, well trained, motivated, and would love some payback. But they don’t have the US production capability or Intel capability. But we really don’t want Poland to engage Russia that would get out of hand quickly.

But that would lead to nuclear conflict. So if he wants to send nukes our way then he wants nuclear conflict
On his side though its about support. If he just starts blasting nukes at the US, he probably does get axed from within, or overthrown or whatever. If he makes the US look like the bad guy first then he may have at least some internal support.
I personally never believed this was about Ukraine, I believe Putin has always had the goal of getting a crack at the US. He found us at a vulnerable time with weak leadership and saw his chance.

So then what was the play here? Been waiting on one of you experts to give one. Why would Russia do this on purpose? Pure incompetence? Because I don’t see the play.

He doesnt WANT nuclear conflict with NATO, he just WANTS the US to get involved enough so that he has an excuse to send nukes our way.

Oh come on.

Since there'd be no history books to be written, why bother with some stilted dance to justify attacking the US with nukes?

You know that with all going on we must be on a heightened state of alert. He'd never get away with it.

They were targeting Ukrainian power stations. Right near where this happened is a Ukrainian power plant and also a lot of European energy lines lead into Ukraine from this town. My guess is they meant to hit the power plant and failed or they really were trying to hit the power infrastructure on the Polish side and failed on that too.

I think if things broke correctly for him, he would at least try.

I think it was calculated, I think they want/need Ukraine dark. They need them desperate, they need Ukraine to negotiate more than Ukraine needs Russia at the table right now. If this goes into deep winter Russia knows Ukraine can reinforce and re equip and re organize their troops.
