If those wait-and-see factions are numerous and start breaking towards Wagner, this could end quickly in a way inconceivable just a few days ago.

Remember at the beginning of the war last year, Putin jailed the head of the FSB fifth service, Sergei Beseda, and sacked many of the agents whose sole job was to prepare Ukraine for an invasion, and provide intelligence on what was occurring in the country.
