War in Ukraine

Military officials charged over illegally selling army food supplies

Military officials in Kyiv Oblast were charged over illegally selling food from the Armed Forces' supplies for personal gain, the State Bureau of Investigation reported on Nov. 27.

In collusion with private entrepreneurs, the officials allegedly stole at least 30% of military food supplies from a warehouse, which were then sold in shops, restaurants, and markets, the bureau said.

In another scheme, a military official of the unit issued "empty" invoices for supplies worth millions of hryvnias to a private company that were never delivered, according to the bureau.

Are you upset that they attempted to defraud the Ukrainian military, or that they were caught when doing so?

Huge problems in the Ukrainian army

"While the Ukrainian leadership proudly points to preserved Western tanks such as 'Leopard,' 'Challenger,' and 'Abrams,' many soldiers are forced to reach the front line in fifty-year-old 'Ladas' because there is a shortage of armored personnel carriers and off-road vehicles.

"We defend our country, risk our lives, and in the end, we pay for equipment, rent, food, and car repairs ourselves. What is happening with all the money coming from abroad?"

I think Ukraine is slowly starting to lose this war. Their offensive has died down now and Russia is hitting hard again. However, it is hard to imagine a Russian total victory. I don't see Russia being able to take Kiev or any major city anytime soon.

At this point, it is just bleeding both countries dry similar to WW1 with Europe.

They lost the war in Spring 2022 when the Russians endured the sanctions and when the Russians destroyed Kyiv's first and best line of troops.

It is easy to see Russia getting a total victory. They are doing exactly what they said. They are demilitarizing Kyiv. That means taking men and machines off the battlefield. As long as Zelensky continues to feed more men (and now women) into these no win cauldrons and fighting to the last man in places like Baukmut and right now Avdiivka, then why should Russia concern itself with gaining territory when they can stay behind their defensive lines and just let the Ukrainians come to them?

I don't see Russia being able to take Kiev or any major city anytime soon.
They will not likely have to go in to Kharkiv or Odessa. The Kyiv govt will crack around the same time that the military cracks.

At this point, it is just bleeding both countries dry similar to WW1 with Europe.
Russia has all of the time, men and resources to drag this out for as long as they need to. Europe and the US are the ones that have economies being driven into the ditch and we have no industrial base to match Russia gun to gun. Russia has a real economy and makes real would items. All we do here is shuffle paper, sell lattes and make Tik-Tok videos.

Those are fake numbers for Russian casualties. No one takes anything the Kyiv media says seriously.

Meanwhile, Mediazona and the BBC, not exactly classified as Pootin puppets, have this:

Russian casualties in Ukraine

Mediazona, in collaboration with BBC News Russian service and a team of volunteers, continues gathering information on the Russian military casualties in Ukraine. The figures we provide are sourced from publicly available information, including social media posts from family members, local media coverage, and official statements from local authorities. However, these figures represent only a partial account and do not reflect the full extent of the casualties.

The actual death toll is likely significantly higher. A joint data investigation by Mediazona and Meduza estimated in July that by the end of May, approximately 47,000 Russians under the age of 50 had died in the Ukraine war.

Nice edit. So they acknowledge the deaths are likely 50k and their own casualty estimate is clearly low.

Lol, right.

Because they make sense the majority of the time. You have to have a certain level of discernment and grasp of reality. Now could they be wrong at times? Sure? But look at the propaganda coming from the Ukraine side over the last 21 months vs what has been coming out of Russia and the obvious benefit of doubt goes to the Russians. There;s been no Ghost of Kyiv, Snake Island (f*** you), Pickle Jar Babushka nonsense coming from the Russians, but between the Ukrainians and the British media, these guys are the biggest liars in the history of mankind... right up until Oct. 7th.
lol.

Nazi street names.
gay nazis.
death cult.
western bio labs.
the early war peace treaty that never once got mentioned, by either side, until 8 months in when Russia was losing ground.
Poland/Romania/the West dividing up Ukraine/Lviv.
The "Sim" cards
the fake staged bodies, granted Ukraine did this too.

thats just the stuff they straight up made up, then you have all the copium.
you guys still believe the Moskva is fine or just had a slight smoking accident.
Bakhmut was a game changing lynchpin, I guess the Russians were just jealous of the west falsely using that phrase and wanted in.
Most popular war ever, just ignore the hundreds of thousands fleeing the country.
most peaceful/civilian changing war ever. you guys were talking about Putin deserving a Nobel Peace Prize for it.
Oh yeah, how about the "Special Military Operation". still won't even call it a war.

eh its been that way from the start. neither side wanted to admit earlier. now both sides are claiming it was the real plan all along and that they are actually winning.

both of those instances are cases of Russia attacking Ukrainian positions....

you mean BACK into Kharkiv? The Russians lost that city just like the Ukrainians did at the start.

and earlier in the war you were talking about Ukraine being lucky if the Russians stopped when they took Odessa. funny how your tone has changed over time.

I wouldn't consider 155mm shells something really to base one's economy on. especially when YOU have been so vocal about our MIC being an issue here, and complaining about how we sell war.

your "real" economy needs to step up its game with our bunch of latte makers...
  • U.S. manufacturing output for 2021 was $2,497.13B, a 11.55% increase from 2020.
  • Russia manufacturing output for 2022 was $287.71B, a 21.69% increase from 2021.
we are running circles around their manufacturing, we just make far more than Russia does and don't focus on 155mm shells.

China on the other hand is far outpacing both of us at over 4,000 Billion.

Ukraine has been losing this for a long time. But Saint Z continues to send his own people to certain death against a country with 100+ million more people.

yeah, not sure how this is the flex he thinks it is. that quote was from back in July. going back to July 27th ITT the Kyiv Independent said 240k casualties.

37k DEATHS is "way" too low even in July. so lets say just 50k deaths. take a very modest 3x wounded ratio, and you have an additional 150k wounded, so thats 200k casualties. if that difference of 40k (240k vs 200k) is enough for Ras to laugh off, based on extremely conservative math, he is clearly not interested in being open minded.

and July was before either Ukrainian or Russian big offensives which have ratcheted up the numbers.

really its the country with its 100+ million more people sending people to their deaths.

there is a reason self defense is justified in most countries. the defender is not responsible for the violence even if it ends up "worse".

really the whole argument that things would be better if Ukraine had rolled over early is based on pure speculation that ignores Russia's long established history in the area.

you guys just phrase your statements like this to deflect away from Russia's responsibility.

And if you were the President of an invaded country you would simply surrender and turn yourself over to be executed?
