its not like Zelensky is oblivious to the remarks. Perfect sense would have been to apologize, or offer some sort of minimalizing remark. something like "I understand they are in a tough spot, but here we would call someone who kept their office with no election a tyrant. I apologize because it doesn't fully apply here, and I hope we can successfully continue our talks."

shows an ounce of humility, some understanding, while not denying something that was clear as day. it wasn't even a hot mike issue, trump just straight up said it.

I find it hilarious he says Trump doesn't want to get into it because he's trying to get a deal done. Calling Z a dictator seems like a bad start to that process. He had an opportunity to clear the air and he pulled the dementia card.
