No, I expect him to side with Ukraine so as to pressure Putin into making a deal that favors the aggrieved party. Pretty simple and until Trump took over it was a sentiment shared by GOP leadership.

But why would Putin agree to a deal that doesn't give him what he wants? What leverage does any country have over Russia? If they aren't deploying their troops to Ukraine to fight, Putin has no incentive to end the war he started.

If Putin thinks Ukraine cannot win, why would he sign anything that doesn't give him exactly what he wants? He seems content to continue as is because he believes Ukraine cannot hold out as long as Russia even with European/US support.

Let Europe send weapons to ukraine if they want. We can sell them those weapons. If they want to send troops and they get ****ed up it does not trigger article V.
