Which is what I think about when I heard Trump and now Biden when they talk about infrastructure projects or bringing back jobs. All of those things need to be done immediately, but it won't happen overnight.

Education is one big key, and there seems to be no interest at all in recognizing needs or revising any plans. Last we've heard from dems is they are still stuck full out on college for everybody, and don't have a clue that it doesn't take a college degree to do a lot of what we need. Infrastructure repair, if you want to go there, requires a much heavier mix of blue collar non-college types; and where do you get them once you've sold generations of kids that kind of work is beneath them? The real infrastructure job is education - quit listening to ivy leaguers and elites and simply look around at what skills are needed ... at least if we ever manage to bring back industry to make us self sufficient again. There's an image problem, too. Who wants to assemble cars when the country is top heavy with celebrity CEOs pulling in millions - deserved or not. We're reverting back to the age of serfs and royalty, and it doesn't work.
