War in Ukraine

And China takes over the world...

I did see they weren't targeted at all which I find unusual if one is throwing around hundreds of warheads. Whether it comes from us or Russia, one might think they'd get hit in some strategic areas and targets.

Forget any simulation out there. The U.S. has all the bases covered, just in case. All I can say.

We have no idea what will happen in a nuclear war. We don't know the state of their arsenal, don't know if we're even being honest about what we have.

Just telling you what the experts taught us.
Gross part was when they showed us the progression pictures of a Los Alamos scientist dying of radiation. Sttrange story that was actually portrayed in a movie with John Cusack. It seems a scientist was fooling around with some blocks or discs of refined uranium. He was using them like building blocks and stacking them up in different shapes when he inadvertently stacks them in a way where he created a nuclear pile and it trigged an actual reaction. There was a visible flash and he immediately knocks the pile apart with his arm. Massive dose of radiation with the arm getting the worse part.

The pictures show it starting in the arm and going up. Poor guy, they had no idea what to do for him.

Wouldn't mind slipping a little radioactive material in Putin's borsch.

Because Europe is expendable?

No offense to the Europeans, but if Putin executed a tactical strike of say 50 Kt on a military target not in a populated area, would we up the ante by striking more than one target of our own knowing the explosions would grow to the east and west?

Nuclear brinkmanship is not an easy political play regardless of who's in the White House or the Kremlin. Where does it stop once it starts?

Sorry, I thought we were talking about that simulation where Russia unloads on the US and we retaliate - or maybe not. I agree tactical strikes are a different matter altogether, and I can see how you would say "OK, you got a free one - that time". It's a different kind of blackmail, and eventually you have to face it somehow - and not necessarily with a nuclear strike, but I sure hope we have better planners than I think our government could find looking back at most of their other contingency plans.
