War in Ukraine

Not really, but it doesnt matter because he is the one decidedly winning and he is content to continue the slow bleed and capture of Ukraine...unless the US can offer him something better...but there is nothing we can offer Russia so long as Zelensky is in power.

Trump saying he could end this war in 24 hours was always idiotic and he is finding out how little leverage he has here.

Hate him if you want, but give Putin credit, he has walked this Ukrainian tightrope about perfectly.
You bet. Starting a war he was convinced he could have wrapped up in a few weeks that’s still going on 3+ years later with no end in sight is some master class chess play. 😂🤡

Russia is defeating the West. Europe is so pathetically indebted they cant scrape up the bare minimum needed to even begin rebuilding their military. It's a joke, they are a joke.

Then you have the US which wants out of this proxy war as soon as possible and is looking for any avenue possible to end the funding of it.

Russia won, bigly.

You should be a comedian, you've missed your calling.

Reality is quite often humorous. Dark humor it is, but watching the idiocy of the collective west has been somewhat humorous. Watching Europe talk tough and then not be able to even get its slovenly grotesque ass up off the couch to fight, is darkly funny (too bad it comes at the cost of a million plus dead/wounded Ukrainian fighters).

We dont even have to litigate the past, just Zelensky's comments over the last few weeks is all the proof one needs.

Lol, so while Putin is actively murdering Ukrainians, you're worried about Zelensky's comments being a "threat" to Russia?

Your world must be so bizarre to live in.

Yep. While Zelensky keeps making threats, Putin will continue to bleed Ukraine's military. Zelensky can wave the white flag at any time, maybe he needs to consult with the French and they can assist him with it, but instead he does the opposite. As Trump rightly pointed out, he holds no cards here. His best option, to save what is left of his Country, is surrender.

They didn't exist anymore as a political entity but rather as subjects of Alexander's Empire (i.e. Greece). He didn't just take out Persia, he took out the Greeks, Thracians, Illyrians, and others as threats. He did fail to have a real succession plan and his Empire fragmented into various civil wars after his death.

In my view, the only way we could ever have peace on Earth is to unite the human race into a single political entity similar to the United Earth setup in Star Trek (or Terran Empire).
He didn't "take them out" he folded them into his army. And he didn't do a whole lot to wipe out the existing adminstrations in place. The most he did was kill off the ruler. The Achaemind bloodline continued. The greek bloodlines continued. Not sure about the others but I doubt he really removed them as much as you think he did.

He didn't suddenly find more Macedonians after conquering the Greeks or any others. He just recruited them to his army or administration.

The biggest change he made is who they sent their taxes too and leaving veteran colonies as he went.

I literally have 0 clue what your point was. People were saying Ukraine can't win because they are on defensive and have occupied territory. France was in the same boat as Ukraine in WW1. It is a very valid comparison. The only real difference is that Russia has 3x the population of Ukraine and doesn't have other fronts to deal with like Germany did in WW1.
I was saying that France wasn't a great comparison. France wasn't on the defensive all of WW1. The germans occupied french territory but the French were more often the aggressors than the germans were. The germans collapsed at the end, that's what started the armistice* talks.

The french/allies won because they could maintain the fight longer than the germans could. Which is why I have said the Winter War is the better comparison. Small nation fighting the much larger Russia. Forced Russia into a white peace after Russia decided it was too bloody of a fight to win. The Russians still had more troops and equipment than the Finns COULD have won against. But they didn't need to defeat the entire Russian army. Same as Ukraine. Ukraine doesn't have to defeat the Russian army, but the Russians willingness to accept the losses.

Sounds like he's waiting for Europe and America to bring troops over.

Lol what?

Putin has had to shift his victory conditions two or three times. And had not achieved any verifiable goals since the opening months.

He has had to rely on not only foreign arms, but also foreign troops.

He had an armed rebellion.

Ukraine holds territory in Russia, no matter how small.

Ukraine is bombing logistics in Russia, including Moscow.

He has seen the number of NATO nations on his border increase, the very reason for the war allegedly.

He has lost an embarassing chunk of his Black Sea fleet in a land war. Minimizing how much gaining a port matters.

There legal entities, as nations, were wiped out. No different than let's say the USA annexing Texas. Texas doesn't exist anymore as an Independent nation.

Total crap. Anyone can watch Putin interviews since this war began and they sound a lot like his recent interview where he reiterated once again the purpose and objectives of the SMO.

As for Kursk, what was the strategic objective behind it? To get 50-70k of Ukraine's better fighters encircled and slaughtered? It was another idiotic PR stunt by Zelensky that ended in yet another total failure.

Spin the wheel, win a prize if you land on the reason specified in his most recent speech.
