Apparently 18 is just too young for some to comprehend "commitment". Was this a daddy decision?

I would hope Warlick wont release her -- same way Gundy did with that QB UT was eyeing a couple months ago.BTW this isnt her first time decommiting Jannah Tucker recommitts to Tennessee; Lady Vols now hoping for a "Mercedes" - Swish Appeal

I'm of the opinion as long as there out of your conference, don't let the door hit you on your way out and it would hurt recruiting in the future, you know recruits seen what he done and haven't forgotten it

I'm wondering what is going on with Tucker,I don't know why she bailed out on the Vols, the only thing i could find was the mentioned Personal Problems,of course, when i looked back at when she decommitted the first time, everything said her Father said she was doing this, that or the other

I don't recall any mention of personal problems - it was personal "reasons". That could mean anything, including changed her mind.

I agree not letting her out of her commitment could hurt recruiting because it just seems vindictive on UT's part.

did ya'll ever think that maybe she was just scared to leave home? my little girl squalled like a baby when she first went off to college @ villanova and made herself sick until about 2 months into the year, Now you'd need dynamite to git her away from there.

Could be. It's hard to remember what it was like to be 17 years old and what was important at that time. I'm amazed more kids don't back out at the last minute.

It's always something with this program nowadays--one step forward, one step back.

In the past other programs have used our being a gay friendly program against us. I wouldn't be surprised if they are still doing that. Supposedly when she de-committed before it was because of bad information which sounds a hell of a lot like someone is poisoning the well against us in one form or another.

Anyway, good luck to her. We will be fine.

Geno has always used that.

Where did you get that "fact"? It's pretty difficult to use that strategy when uconn has had gay players on the roster. For instance, Sue Bird during a time when anti gay prejudice was more a factor than it is now.

I don't follow player gender preferences, but I wouldn't be surprised if almost all teams have gay players on the roster.

I don't know about Geno but it was/is a common tactic in women's basketball and has been used against us a lot in the past. Also, I wouldn't rule out a coach with known gay players claiming otherwise if they thought it would influence a recruit.

I am not saying that happened here BTW... just providing background of what has been done in the past. Recruiting is a dirty business. She may have just changed her mind, or had a meddling parent so speculation on a particular case without any inside knowledge is useless.

She seemed to have cold feet and we need players who are all in. Just wish her well and move on. And for God's sake, start recruiting to something closer to a full roster because attrition is only going to get closer and closer to what it is in the men's game. Why give women's teams two more scollies than the men's teams if they aren't going to use them?

I thought it was Geno saying it was frowned upon at UT?

Holly at least deserves to know why she is not coming. That's pretty low just to say I'm not coming after they stuck with her even though she was injured. That's not the way to live your life and this young lady needs to understand that. If you don't want to be here, fine, but at least tell them why.
