I know his basketball teams surpassed expectation , he got to coach his son in college, but he did get a divorce and he did lose/ruin his coaching job/career. So I say negative.

Overall, positive. Not sure what his divorce has to do with anything at all with his coaching tenure here.

Positive. But most of the fanbase won't forget the last 12 months or so anytime soon.

He left the place in a worse condition than when he got here, but it was a hell of a ride.

I say it's pretty much even.

We had a good year the year before he got here (14)wins and the year before (15)wins of course we were scheduling a lot of the top ten teams on our out of conference schedule. Im so glad its back to business as usual that I can't hardly wait.

POSITIVE

Congrats on continually being able to exceed my expectations for worthless posts.

Definitely positive.

Although, not to dig up an old dead carcass, but it appears that Buzz Peterson actually had a monster class on the way when fired. Tyler Smith and Jamont Gordon would have been sick. But, that was not in the bag a the time and then Tyler jumped at the coaching change. Had Hammy given him another year it might have looked better to start with.

Pearl's belly landing dropped us dramatically from the Elite 8 then undefeated start to the season. The timeline of the events shows the collapsing almost perfectly in line as the allegations (facts) mounted. Then when Hammy made his slip on radio we saw the UM slaughter. Rock bottom season (for Pearl), grads and NBA defections, then looming sanctions, and coaching change.

We are pretty low, but the UT name is back on the radar in Basketball imo.

Overall, this was some of the most entertaining years ever (I'll never forget Texas #1, #2, UF superteams getting owned, Pitt, Villanova, Kansas, the #1 rank, Tiger High, Marquette, Georgetown, Gonzaga, OSU x 2, and others. Some heartbreakers in there to, but wow what run. I can't imagine some beatdown conference team not picking up CBP in a few years such as a Miami, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Texas Tech, or Oregon, just to see if lightening will strike x2.

it was positive in that it showed a successful basketball program is possible and will bring in the fans. Other than that...

Yep, he raised the bar. Pretty important, I'd say.

If CM can do the same we should be enjoying good basketball for years to come.

positive. he gave us the expectation that we should be in the NCAA tourney every year, whereas before he showed up, making the NCAA tourney would mean we had a hell of a year.

Which is exactly why I said positive.

The divorce doesn't have much to do with coaching, but it has to do with the integrity of the coach who told the lies. It's all part of the tenure. Should make you wonder where this program would be if it had a foundation of integrity rather than one of deceit. Snakeoil is wonderful until it bites you.
