I don't see why in all hell a coach of any caliber would want to come into this hornet's nest, where averaging 10 win seasons is considered a failure. This makes me wonder if the SEC isn't going to implode with the ridiculous expectations from the fans and/or boosters. Georgia has had horrible luck with key injuries and playing second fiddle to Florida. Yeah he's choked away some opportunities there is no doubt on that, but I am willing to bet real money that he is still better than 95% of the coaches out there
Then you have LSU. Yes, I actually agree that Miles is an overrated coach, and is not all that good. He is way too one dimensional, and a run heavy offense is pretty easy to stop in today's game. So, ok they fire him and the boosters pay his buyout, and they all go after Fisher. What improvement would Jimbo Fisher have at LSU over FSU? That makes no sense. He already has a straight line shot at the NC every single year, with his only hurdle being Clemson. So, he's going to leave that to come to LSU, whose recruiting base is a lateral move at best, while at the same time, adding about 3 or 4 more hurdles to that path? Outside of cashing in on stupid booster money that will mostly payed out in a stupid high buyout in three or four years with bridges burnt at your previous sweet gig, it absolutely does not make any sense at all.
I think with the new playoff system, more coaches are going to see that it is asinine to leave a gig where they have a real shot at a NC as long as they win their conference with no more than 1 loss, to go to a conference where most of the teams with any kind of history are going to expect you to win 11 games nearly every year. Yeah, Bama has had a ridiculous run that has been nothing short of amazing, but that was just the perfect storm that is almost impossible to recreate, especially when Saban is still at Alabama raking in all the top recruiting classes and all those wins.
