Wasted talent at OU?

They're big game flop artists. Both coach in weak leagues, beating up on the Poor Sisters of their conferences then lay an egg when it counts. They get by with out-talenting their opponents. Then when it comes down to coaching they are playing with a short deck.

really? How about their careers? Stoops has a title and has been to several title games and Tressel's years at Y'town speak for themselves.

Now, tell me about the greatness of the SEC that Fulmer competed favorably in and regale me with tales of the SEC's greatness over this decade. How many teams, year in and year out, were viable title contenders?

This isn't a compare and contrast with Fulmer thread, although several posters try it. This is about Stoops moving tons of talent into the league and not having a BCS win in close to a decade. They pay a guy top dollar to win the Big 12. Yahoo. He had a friggin pirate as a coach in his division for crying out loud.

UT should have offered Stoops $1 dollar more than Saban is making to come to UT. Steve Spurrier still owes Stoops royalties for his NC.

If what he has done is underachieve then sign me up for underachieving.

BTW - you would have probably wanted to fire Neyland too. He typically didn't care too much or fare too well in bowl games either.

Not sure Stoops would have taken basically a latteral pay move to have the heat coaching at UT would bring. He's on easy street at OU.

I think 10 years in one place is enough for anyone in this day and age, but I don't think he is resting on his laurels either. Other than Saban, I can't imagine anyone else I'd rather have on the sidelines.

I'm sure he's working and coaching at the highest level he's capable of.

Would I like him on UT's sidelines? Sure.
Would I expect a BCS win for $5MM a year? Without question.

Sure, I'll forward them to your email. What was it again? UTIE@donthaveaclue.com

Those calls are broadcast on the radio at every Big12 local market you dolt. Its not about being an "insider", its about turning on the radio.

Don't be a jackass. I don't listen to the Big 12 conference calls nor do I care to. You could have just typed up why Stoops isn't on easy street as a result of the conference call but instead you chose to be a d-bag. Good call.

I thought so too. Sorry I interrupted your uninformed ramblings. I'll let you get back to that now.

Thanks and Gig em'

So it's uninformed to call out Bob Stoops for making $5MM a year and not winning a BCS game in nearly a decade?

I'm sure in all your wisdom you can find an Aggie message board to exude your toolness.

Dude comes on here saying Stooper is not on the gravy train at OU and references some obscure coaches conference call. Asking him to elaborate shouldn't be difficult.

I'm sure he appreciates you taking up for him though.

I'm feeling even better about OU's immediate future. The last time original poster started this stupidity, OU won three straight league titles and the coach he said was going to stay ahead of Stoops in career winning percentage tanked, got fired, and now can't beat out Dabo Swinney for a job. Probably time to make room for more hardware in Norman.

If you and OU are fine paying $5MM a year for turning out bunker crops of NFL talent with only Big12 titles to show for it then fine.

Beating the Baylor, A&M, Iowa St, and Tx Techs of the world should cost you around $1.5MM, and get you the same results.

You were happy with Tennessee paying 2 mil plus and losing to Vanderbilt. Probably not a good idea for you to talk about wasted money.
