Wasted talent at OU?

are you arguing it's easier to win now than it was 15 years ago?

Hell, it's still a good conference. He's right, probably not as good now as then, but considering the shape of the B12 in the early 2000s, it's hard to argue that Stoops didn't beat the best early on.

They're big game flop artists. Both coach in weak leagues, beating up on the Poor Sisters of their conferences then lay an egg when it counts. They get by with out-talenting their opponents. Then when it comes down to coaching they are playing with a short deck.
Tressel is definitely not a big game flop artist.

Under Stoops, OU has dropped some BCS games they shouldn't have, but losing to the 2004 Trojans and 2008 Gators isn't something to be ashamed of. The only bad BCS losses are the WVU game and the Boise State game, neither of which really are that big of a deal if you're in the BCS so often.

Yeah, but the roided up Nebraska teams as well as a much better Kansas State probably put that group over the top. I think Colorado was also better, and maybe a few other teams I can't remember right now.

Either way, it's not remotely close to the WAC.

Fulmer hasn't been a coach since you've been a member of this site. You should let it go.

You spent way too much time defending him for it not to be brought up when you slam a guy that dominates his conference.

As for the out-talenting thing... Fulmer losing to the one conference opponent with equal talent was a virtual guarantee. Stoops has a winning record over Texas.

If you and OU are fine paying $5MM a year for turning out bunker crops of NFL talent with only Big12 titles to show for it then fine.

Beating the Baylor, A&M, Iowa St, and Tx Techs of the world should cost you around $1.5MM, and get you the same results.

I'll bet you'd be pissed if a coach with Peyton Manning, Leonard Little, Jamal Lewis, and Al Wilson had to backdoor his way into an SEC championship.

How many bcs appearances does the wac have compared to the big12 sans ou and uta?

How many WAC games has Boise State lost?

Has the undefeated Big 12 Champ ever needed a miracle to beat the last place Pac-10 team?

What does that have to do stoops going without a bcs win for nearly a decade and having 3 of the top 4 nfl picks this year?

I like to consider the source when I approach an argument. I can barely hear you over the sound of your hypocrisy.

It's clearly comparable. He's only won the conference over the past decade about as frequently as UT's been able to beat South Carolina.

Ha. The slip was appropriate. Using one to mean they are one of the two legitimate teams in their league.

Make the SEC into a two school conference of UF and UT and Bob Stoops still wins more conference titles than Phil.
