Watched film of Arkansas and Florida game with a former NFL defensive coordinator.

Because tackles make more money and that’s what they offered him to come here. Left tackle.
Question is why is he playing LT now?
For whatever reason he’s been playing terrible. People seem to think the backups played as good vs Arkansas.
We really that weak at OL or is it CJH just won’t make the switch?
He left LSU because he refused to play anything but LT and wanted their All-American LT to switch to RT. Or that's what I've come to the understanding of. Take it for what you will.

I believe that would be Alvin Toles. Also, who can forget Jason Layman under Majors. He wanted to play defensive tackle, Majors wanted him on offense. Let him play one game on defense, but would not let him substitute out. Next week and rest of time he played offensive line. Had a good pro career.
The lines we had back then were insanely good.

Tackles need to be big and quick on their feet. They get not only the edge rushers but often a blitzing outside linebacker/corner.

Sometimes all they can get is a piece of a guy coming at full speed. If he's 220lbs and got a head of steam and you're 250lbs, you're not going to do well unless you get him head on.

If you're 325lbs, that 220lb linebacker with a running start will still know he hit something even if he just gets a shove or a shoulder.
I agree with everything you said and it would make more sense if your OT was 275-280 rather than 325 and slow. I'd think a man at 280 has plenty of power and more quickness.
