Watching the BCS Game Tonight (Official game thread)

Cute hug fellas. However, next time you may want to work on your mounting skills. It looks like Barrett's thumb is smack dab in the middle of AJ's toaster oven..

(wish the Comcast thing wasn't right in the way)

Woulda been sweet if Jones slammed him on the ground, kicked him in the nuts, slapped Saban and torn his shirt off, exposing a giant orange power T tattooed on his chest.

Ed O woulda paid attention.

I laughed hard for some reason at this one.

It's the ex-girlfriend rule: If you're still gratuitously talking about hating them months after you kicked them out of the house, threw their stuff on the curb, and sent their daddy pictures of them blowing another guy, then you're probably secretly resisting the urge to shop Victoria's Secret, put on some Prada heels, and call them & ask if they'd like to try something different......

(MemphisVol walks his toaster oven out to the curb, held, carefully, away from his body)

homos JMO

A. As any Bama fan will tell you, having a man-crush doesn't make you homosexual (the way they worship Bear would be impossible otherwise).

B. Steroid use shrinks all the parts that would make any kind of sexuality possible, hetero or homo, and, well, it's Bama.

Thanks... and crap. She's an egghead too, and so while UT has offered her good money (and we're admittedly a lot more competitive academically since I was her age), so have some even more competitive schools with good LAX teams.

I'd support her wherever, but now I'm in the weird position of hoping she doesn't ask my opinion, because I think commitment to excellence of body & mind are equal, and she ought to go where she can have as much as she's willing to work for.

Sigh...

Thanks again

My son played for 4 years at UT. Fortunately, he was a good student so he was able to grad in 9 semesters. The clubs practice nearly as much as the Varsity teams if they want to compete. He is in grad school now. If she is able to play D1, I would encourage a balance between academics and athletics. If she is not going D1, I would point her more toward academics but make sure that the Lax team is in an NCAA sanctioned league and they are competitive. UT kinda screwed around my sons first two years and he was very disappointed. I know Tennessee Weslyan was offering "extra help" for their club members but I think they are now either D3 or D2 varsity.

I think it's a "too soon" thing. Right now, there are still people, somewhere mourning. Give it a few years and (at least if she'd been American) Mother Teresa would laugh. Unless, of course, the poor s.o.b. qualifies for the Darwin Awards, then all bets are off....

I didn't say the joke to the parents of that kid. The joke wasn't even making fun of him, it was making fun of Notre Dame's football team.
Get a sense of humor, Volnation. Show me a funny joke that isn't mildly offensive to someone.
I'm offended by people who are easily offended.

If it makes you feel better, when I tweeted that joke, I added #toosoon

From Low's write up:

What Alabama learned: The Tide are a dynasty. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Nick Saban has his third national title in four years, and his fourth overall. The scary part? Alabama may be even better next year.

What Notre Dame learned: Everyone who said the Irish were lucky to be here feels a little validated. It was an historic season by almost any measure for Notre Dame, but one has to wonder just how far this program is from being the best of the best after a demoralizing Monday night.
