There was a lot of talk 3 or 4 years ago about them going scholarship but I think with the current financials, that isn't going to happen. If she can play somewhere for $$, let her go and support her. The sport needs players everywhere.

Thanks... and crap. She's an egghead too, and so while UT has offered her good money (and we're admittedly a lot more competitive academically since I was her age), so have some even more competitive schools with good LAX teams.

I'd support her wherever, but now I'm in the weird position of hoping she doesn't ask my opinion, because I think commitment to excellence of body & mind are equal, and she ought to go where she can have as much as she's willing to work for.

Sigh...
