We’re a final four threat again, prove me wrong

He's not a setup guy. 1.8 apg. The number doesn't lie. I thought you were saying ZZ took over games.
He set up guys time and time again off the dribble, this isn’t the nba, which looking at your post history seems to be where your “expertise” lies. Two completely different games.

You don't even know how to have a conversation. Every point is irrelevant and illustrates a misunderstanding of what I'm saying.

Just tell me the games where ZZ took over running crunch time offense.

When did I ever say he did? Again, not a necessary trait to be a college PG.

So now we're back to my original point about not having that guy on the roster.

I’m not totally bought in on the Okpara > Aidoo theory. More physical, yes. More competitive, yes…probably so. I think skills and length favor Aidoo, but I hope Okpara becomes a force.

Having more aggression, rebounding, and rim protection is what we primarily need right now, because the additional scoring options on the roster this season will more than make up for any offensive production we got from Aidoo/Awaka

What's the scouting report on Okpara? Does he stretch the game vertically like Aidoo did? Or is he more like an Awaka type? Do we have a rim runner on the roster anymore?

Estrella was coming on as a pick and roll lob threat last season. If he takes a sophomore surge he may fill that roll.

He's got good hands and deserves minutes as he develops, but the more a guy can get vertical, the better the spacing gets and I'm not sure Estrella is that guy. Seems like some offseason S&C might get him there, tho. He had some baby fat to lose and he's gonna get more coordinated and athletic with time.

He’s a dunker/lob threat, great rim runner, to this point hasn’t shown much offense outside of 5’…better defender than Aidoo.

Aidoo wasn't an outside threat either. His improvement came when he started playing 9 feet and in.

His big games was him feasting down low, often off ZZ making great dishes to him.

Knecht was that last year and nobody knew it this time last year, who’s to say that guy isn’t on the roster this year?

I misspoke. I didn't even make the point that we don't have that guy. The conversation started with me asking if we have that guy. I haven't done my homework on anybody other than the guys who already got minutes and the transfers (none of whom are assist guys, but you are right...players have hidden or develop new abilities).

Aidoo had developed a nice little 12-15 foot jumper as a pick and pop guy, but he was just far too inconsistent from game to game. But his inability to deal with physical bigs is where Okpara is going to be the biggest upgrade. Okpara will probably be a superior lob threat as well.

Can anybody give me a breakdown of how we think minutes will be allotted? I assume top 7 minutes go to:

ZZ
Okpara
Dubar
Lanier
Gainey
Mashak
Estrella

Or is there somebody else who will carve their way into the top 7-man rotation?

Knecht averaged 1.8apg, are we gonna sit here and say he didn’t command double teams? Zach Edey was right there with Knecht on APG, that dude stayed getting doubled. Zeigler led the league in assists and was one of the best in the country in that regard, but didn’t command a double team. Not really sure of your point or what you’re looking for, a college LBJ?

Very real chance Milicic and/or Dubar play more minutes than Gainey.

I would expect Milicic to get a lot of time along with ZZ, Shack, Lanier, Okpara, and Dubar, with Gainey and Carr working into the rotation based on how they practice and play. Estrella should be the primary backup at 5 except in small ball lineups.

He shot the shot but he just didn't make it very often. His free throw percentage even tanked this year as his opportunity went up. Aidoo was good enough offensively when he committed to working around the rim.

Okpara doesn't try to shoot from 15, or 3, or anything else. Just from watching film he's good at keeping the ball high in the paint. I like that about him more than anything. He dunks everything he can and doesn't lower the ball down into the guard steal zone.

I look forward reading your comments and thoughts about the college game as I don’t watch the NBA as much as I did yrs ago.

Disregard those who don’t answer questions and yet twist everything around.
