He set up guys time and time again off the dribble, this isn’t the nba, which looking at your post history seems to be where your “expertise” lies. Two completely different games.
I’m not totally bought in on the Okpara > Aidoo theory. More physical, yes. More competitive, yes…probably so. I think skills and length favor Aidoo, but I hope Okpara becomes a force.
Estrella was coming on as a pick and roll lob threat last season. If he takes a sophomore surge he may fill that roll.
Knecht was that last year and nobody knew it this time last year, who’s to say that guy isn’t on the roster this year?
Aidoo wasn't an outside threat either. His improvement came when he started playing 9 feet and in.
His big games was him feasting down low, often off ZZ making great dishes to him.
Knecht averaged 1.8apg, are we gonna sit here and say he didn’t command double teams? Zach Edey was right there with Knecht on APG, that dude stayed getting doubled. Zeigler led the league in assists and was one of the best in the country in that regard, but didn’t command a double team. Not really sure of your point or what you’re looking for, a college LBJ?I misspoke. I didn't even make the point that we don't have that guy. The conversation started with me asking if we have that guy. I haven't done my homework on anybody other than the guys who already got minutes and the transfers (none of whom are assist guys, but you are right...players have hidden or develop new abilities).
Can anybody give me a breakdown of how we think minutes will be allotted? I assume top 7 minutes go to:
ZZ
Okpara
Dubar
Lanier
Gainey
Mashak
Estrella
Or is there somebody else who will carve their way into the top 7-man rotation?
He shot the shot but he just didn't make it very often. His free throw percentage even tanked this year as his opportunity went up. Aidoo was good enough offensively when he committed to working around the rim.Aidoo had developed a nice little 12-15 foot jumper as a pick and pop guy, but he was just far too inconsistent from game to game. But his inability to deal with physical bigs is where Okpara is going to be the biggest upgrade. Okpara will probably be a superior lob threat as well.
I look forward reading your comments and thoughts about the college game as I don’t watch the NBA as much as I did yrs ago.You don't even know how to have a conversation. Every point is irrelevant and illustrates a misunderstanding of what I'm saying.
Just tell me the games where ZZ took over running crunch time offense.
