I wrote that the line would have UT as a 10 point underdog which was unreasonable (I was chastised by the Vegas savy crowd), but I thought they would at least have the opening line at 7. It will be very interesting to see what happens to the line once the bets start rolling in.

yeah, i think it will probably chage to UT being a slight favorite being homefeild and all....

either way, i don't see the line getting past 3 points either way....

The line might swing to our favor because of betting but I am not suprised to see UT as a dog here. Cal is ranked #9 or something and we are not ranked. Turn the tables UT #9 on the road against unranked Cal and we are -3. Cal may be the best offensive team we face this year. The big question is that no one knows how good anyone is. Let the games begin, I am ready for the speculation to end and the fighting to begin.

Bama kicked the field goal in the last couple of minutes. We didn't have much time overcome that one. P.S. Nothing from last season should count. :p

I knew we'd be the underdog, and I'm surprised it's not by more. It would have been a super easy bet on UT with the line at +6 or so, even +4. However, +3, if I were a betting man who had no bias, is a tough bet on UT. I think we'll win, so for me, it'd be easy. :D However, to Joey Gamble in St. Louis, it might be tough.

Yeah, I guess Wilhoit's screwing up an extra point and then getting a salvation field goal makes up for some referee making a bad call that helped UF win on a Gaffney half-catch. Gaffney not catching the ball is not as bad as Wilhoit missing an extra point. Fortunately, bad officiating led to both those mistakes not being so bad.

Yes, I probably couldn't kick a field goal from the 1 yard line. However, I'm not expected to, because I don't go to school on a football scholarship. Still, the kicker at my high school started for three years and never missed and extra point. Wilhoit should be held to the same standard. It's too bad there was zero depth behind him the last two years.

Well, figuring in the homefield advantage, which usually accounts for 2 or 3 points on a line, we actually are underdogs by about 5 or 6.
