We Beat Bama.

Sorry, but I do not see how barely beating SC at home translates to beating the #1 team in the country at their place with their coach....

He also gives us a 5% chance to beat mizzou, I'd say we have a much better chance than 5%

Agree. Mizzou has beaten a couple beatup teams in the Dawgs & Gators, it will be interesting to how they do against USCe.

Beating Bama will be a tall order, but I think this game will resemble the UGA game more than the Florida or Oregon game. I think this team has really figured out how to compete and believes they can win. I think we're in a different place now than we were at the beginning of the season. Props to CBJ and his staff. Brick by brick....

OP nailed it, btw. No way we lose this game. We are still alive for the SEC East championship. I haven't looked at the maths, but it's gonna happen.

Vols can win but will need a lot of help from Bama. 6 TO's with a pick 6 and blocked punt returned for TD might do it. Bama plays a clean game it will be pretty ugly.

1. They're overrated, and bound to lose.. they will overlook us.

2. We have the best coaching staff in the SEC.

3. Neal/Lane and the OL will tear it up on offense, with big plays from North and Pig.

4. We will win the turnover battle.

5. We're Tennessee.

Gotta be honest here. Football is odd shaped and bounces funny sometimes. UT has a chance... but it is very, very slim. A win would require UT's staff to outcoach Bama by a BIG margin... and UT would still need some breaks or for Bama to play poorly or both.

Bama IS the most talented team UT has or will face this season... and it isn't close. I personally think Oregon is the best "team" because of their system and having recruited/developed the perfect players for their system. But Bama is simply talented.

It took a very strong effort to take UGA to OT and to beat USCe. Bama is better man for man than both of those teams at every position except for maybe Clowney and Davis. McCarron being the least mobile QB UT has played in awhile is also something... but he's also the most precise passer they've faced and NEVER seems to get dirty.

This is a TRUE David vs Goliath match up.... of course David won... but it took divine intervention.

.... without Shaw.....

If Mizzou somehow winds up winning the East... they owe UT a HUGE assist. For some odd reason, Mizzou has played the best teams they've played AFTER UT played... and hurt them.

I personally do not believe Mizzou would have stayed on the field with either the UGA or UF rosters as they were when they began their games with UT.

Hate to say it, but with this QB...would be a long shot for sure.

Will this brand of stupidity EVER end?

Go back and watch the USCe game. There were more DROPS than bad plays on Worley's part.... and there were far fewer of both than there were a month ago.

The only thing he's not doing that I think would really help the O is run. But it is my strong opinion that Jones is telling him not to so he can avoid playing either Fr. I do not know "why" though he has repeatedly said they weren't ready.

Worley has the talent and intelligence to be a very good QB of the Casey Clausen brand.... except faster. Both play(ed) with heart and savvy.... neither super arms... both smart and pretty tough... both have (had) to use the great talent around them to succeed. The biggest differences in "potential" are that Worley didn't get his chance to be the full time starter until he was a Jr, Worley has a slightly stronger arm, and Worley is a little faster.

I would ADMIT THIS GUY IS RIGHT about two things.
1.) Alabama definitely will overlook poor and pitiful tennessee which is good for us. (we aint playing that bad as a team right now.)

2.) Also, alabama definitely could be down this year still being number 1 in the country they have one of the easier not easy but easier schedules inthe SEC!

Math isn't hard. If UT by some miracle did win out... they'd likely be the East representative if a) both UF and UGA end up with 3 SEC losses which seems almost likely right now or b) one does not and Mizzou ends up with two losses forcing a 3 way tie.

If they win out they only need Mizzou to lose once more which is very likely for there to be a tie for the East.

Also, dont forget that UT played GA the same way last year compared to this yr, Georgia turned around and almost pulled a huge upset in the SEC championship vs Alabama. Alabama isn't football Gods their just consistent. But they have had their bad games. Lets just hope their bad game comes at the perfect time.

Best chance Vols have is Saban will try to win the game by just running it downhill. I think Vols match up pretty well in just a smash mouth game, assuming their conditioning overcomes Bama's depth. This could keep it close especially if Vols can muster some offense of their own. That's a big if. I see this as a game of attrition as long as the Vols can keep Cooper from getting over the top. Vol's special teams - especially punts and punt coverage have been very good. They have to keep Bama backed up and having to go 75+ for scores. In the end barring getting some cheap TD's via pick 6, punt returns, blocked punts, etc. Bama will just wear them down. Saban will take 17-0 in a heart beat. He won't open up his offense unless Vols show they can move the ball. And that's smart because the ONLY chance Tennessee has is Bama turn overs. JMHO
