We Better Find a QB in a Hurry!

The thing I can't wrap my mind around is, if one or both of the freshman aren't good in practice or Butch doesn't see them as being an answer, why in the heck is he not at some HS QBs house every evening trying to get one on board. We have recruit after recruit committed for 2014 but not one QB. He's done a great job at recruiting, which makes me think he feels like Ferg or Dobbs, or both, have it. He's flirted with some QBs but not actively pursued one, as though he thinks he don't need one. Just not in the plan to play yet...

I don't know, maybe I'm just hoping

You are.

Butch is to late to the QB party for 14. He may have been in on a few average ones (SEC wise) at UC. QB recruiting usually has a longer development and I'm sure they will go after some top dual that's for 15.

We don't need another average QB. We have 4 now.

Sounds like 5 years ago. Tyler Bray was on a visit and we were elated when he said he would attend Tennessee. I expect we see a true freshman as the starter before the end of this season.

CJ Leak, Clausen? Cooter?

Certainly not the freshmen that did start that year. Would Schaeffer be ahead of Ainge in that read option offense? Would Ainge have to transfer?

Point being, if this year is such an admitted rebuilding year, PLAY THE FRESHMAN!

It'll be too late. Just like Dooley riding out Simms until the end of the Georgia game in 2010. I really don't understand why coaches won't let the better player run the offense even if it's a freshman. They always say they put the best players on the field. What a load of ****.

You're being very kind. Neither is average.

There's not an SEC level QB on the roster. That's on the previous staff. Our play calls and offense is horrid because of that and that alone.

It took you three games in to figure that one out? Coaches watch them every day live in practice. VN gurus hear rumors and see them @ OW game, 1 open practice and in games. When JW is your clear starter and gets chosen to show of uniforms life other starters, your have to read between the lines a bit and realize Peterman is worse, and the FR are exactly that true FR.

just because we are rebuilding doesn't mean you give up. need to play who gives us the best chance to win. Sorry if you don't like it, but thats Worley. also WE PLAYED A FRESHMAN IN THE FIRST HALF.

I actually think we did find a quarter back today. I think Worley got better today. I think our team got better as the game went on. I think we saw improvement from last week. You are going to continue to see improvement from this team, instead of the implosions we've witnessed the last few years. This team never gave up. The fans may give after this, but this team won't. They pull off an upset or maybe two this year.

I agree that Worley did look a little better today even with the picks and at least our defense has somewhat of a pulse this year. Butch will get this thing turned around we just have to tough it out this year.

Maybe, but we don't have a Tyler Bray over there either. Just because there the backup does not mean there better.
I expect JW to take over from here. He is what he is, but he looks like the jitters were gone today. Had he started we could have had a chance in this one. Peterman was a fish out of water.

who is the better player? you have never seen Dobbs or Riley take a snap. How do you know they are better?

We may HAVE to lean on Worley, but I do believe we MUST try and get one of the Freshmen involved in the South Alabama game. We need to know what we've got, while we can. Cause Worley is not playing at an SEC level. It's like trying to make do with a Sun Belt or MAC conference QB.

Beyond this year, we also need to see if we have something in our freshmen, that we can build upon for the future....or do we desperately need to recruit a top shelf QB in this class. To this point, it appears the staff hasn't even tried to land a QB yet. Need to re-evaluate that.

If CBJ doesn't think the freshman are not talented or a fit for his system, why did he sign them to the program? They are both a better fit and there is no way we keep them both for 5 years. He is going to have to pick and play one of them or he is going to be in trouble recruiting.

Problem is...he is not good enough to win. Got to go with a freshman.

They are true freshman, they just are not ready to play yet. right now worley is the better QB.
