We continue to lose when…

1. We start slow/cold in the 1st half.
2. We miss tons of layups
3. We don’t have enough players with a chip on their shoulder or/and don’t play aggressively (almost mad)… it only feels like Knecht and ZZ has that.
4. Lack of set plays down stretch. Maybe I’m wrong but it feels like we never have a real play for the last seconds
Need Uros type dude in lineup against bigger, bigs.

The only thing Uros did good was set the tone. He would let the other team know if they were gonna bang under the rim, he was gonna bang right back. I would love to have a big like Dickenson of Kansas or ex-UK player PJ Washington. We need someone who IS big and PLAYS big.

The regulars need work as well. ZZ missed the entire off season and Gainey/Knecht haven’t had many minutes with him. Plus Santi was away for a week or two. If UT has a deep NCAAT run it will be because of the 8 regulars, not the 5x freshmen.
She might be a pretty good replacement for Barnes in a few years.

Started similar in NC game. Looking nervous or even intimidated. Both games took halftime adjustment.

The fact that Zach Edey is not a Tennessee Vol shows our AD has no desire to win

I understand what you're saying but wins are also important for seeding. If we lose two or
3 close games because of lack of post depth (like we did against State) then you give
up 2-3 seeds. We get 3 losses because we don't have depth, we go from a 2 seed to a 4-5 seed.
That seems important to me.

Margin of victory matters in Kenpom and NET. That’s why he leaves starters in.

What does a loss to Ms State do to the Kenpom and Net? What if we have another 2 point loss
because we can't cover the post when Aidoo fouls out? I am really curious, I don't know.

We weren't covering the post before he fouled out.

James and Vescovi have zero business starting, it’s an automatic double team for everyone else because essentially you can leave them unguarded

Confucius says - “team with many ways to win, also have many ways to lose”
After this week it’s clear we only have 1 way to win. Get the ball to DK and ZZ and let them create. Hopefully both are playing together most of the game but we can’t afford to have both sitting at any point in a competitive game.

We need more leadership and a take-charge attitude from JJJ in tight games. There is no reason why the guy can't get to the rim, or close to it, and score or create foul shots--the guy has NBA body and handles the ball well. He has to known went to be more assertive--and want to be more assertive. Many of the games we lose feature JJJ score 3/5 points and just not contributing enough.
I’m with you on this. He absolutely can go get about any shot he wants. He’s just not wired to be THE guy on a team though. Yes, every now and then he has a game where he’s absolutely the alpha but he’s not that consistently, from a scoring standpoint. He does a lot of other things very well though. He’s been boxing out very well recently, for example. No stat for that but he’s doing it noticeably well. He is what he is, a great glue guy who will average 10 or so a game but also fill up other stats and lead the team in ways other than scoring, which is important.
