We have a really good chance of upsetting Georgia.

I would love for you to be right but let's pump the brakes a bit here. We don't really have an advantage over Georgia anywhere but WR corp and even then we don't throw the deep ball so how much of an advantage is there to exploit? I get that we performed well for a young group in the OK game but then again they covered the spread on us and really the only thing that was vastly underestimated in my opinion was our d-line play (everything else was largely according to plan). If you attempt to critique UGAs performance against USCjr, what did you see that makes you think we will upset them?

I'd say OK was destined to cover the spread on UT. The fact is, they had to pack their lunch because it took them all day to do it. And they know it. That game helps UT in the UGA game.

My speculation of his meaning is that the less rowdy and interested the fans, the less of a home field advantage to the Dawgs.

I've seen more than one person on here call a noon game a bad thing. I don't understand this either. Perhaps earlier in the season I none game in Georgia would be miserable to attend. I've been to a few nc st games at noon, and if you're on the wrong side of the stadium the sun is unbearable. Especially if you are dehydrated from your pregame activities.

But it would be interesting home field win % overall, vs home field win % for a noon game.

Can somebody change the thread title to beating Georgia instead of upsetting please. This is TENNESSEE we should not view if as a upset. We're not a inferior team!! GO VOLS!!

I think it will...b/c it slowed down the rest of the lines we will play this season....have to admit that was one hell of a D-line in Norman

Exactly. The Sooner's front 7 may not be the size of some SEC fronts, but they're freakish combination of speed and size was quite a wake up call for our young O line. I think they learned some valuable lessons and even made great adjustments in the second half for Mr. Hurd.

these are all reasons of why we will be a better football team after the bye.

but they aren't necessarily reasons we will be good enough to upset UGA on the road.

Which makes me wonder, when is the last time Tennessee pulled an upset of that magnitude?

123 rushing yards in one-half vs a top 4 team still fielding its starters. In a weak SEC East, can't help but feel confident about our opportunities this year

the o-line will not improve. maybe by kentucky we'll see some improvement, but one game getting destroyed isn't going to turn them into a good line.

It won't make them a good line but went a long way in helping develop and give them valuable experience. They won't face a better and more veteran DLine this year. That front seven is as good as they come. And playing in their first road game and that kind of atmosphere only helped them. Yea they will take their lumps along the way but will only get better as all the FR continue to gain more experience and get better.

Last yr against SC. They were in the top 10 when we beat them. Not saying we will beat GA on the road though. I think we match up well against GA. They can be thrown on and we have better receivers than SC. Just not sure we can stop Gurley and their ability to run the ball. Seems in the past that average QB's like Mason have career games passing against us. If we can stop their passing game and win the TO battle we will have a chance. But if Mason has a career type game that will open up even more holes for Gurley then we are in for a long day.But like our chances of putting up points better against GA than I do UF.

S Carolina was only a 7.5 favorite over us last year. We'll be much more of a dog than that in Athens.

Why are so many people talking about how we won't face a front 7 like OU again? Bama, UGA, and UF all have as much talent or better talent then OU at those positions.

Not sure about that. Especially not GA. That is a veteran and very talented front 7. Ala has looked very suspect on D so far to 3 not very good teams. And GA has given up a lot of points and UF gave up big plays against UK. Not to mention Ala struggled against that same front 7 we just played. Doubt we see a better DLine this yr.

I think this UGA team is just as good as last year's USC. Both a Top 10 team.

Dont see it. SC had a veteran QB with a lot of starts, GA doesnt. GA is aweful against the pass.SC had a better D than this GA team and a better QB. They could be but so far haven't seen it.

I think we'll be a 17 point underdog at UGA. When's the last time we won a game being such underdogs? 2001 at Florida?

If we stop the run, and also develop a run game, we will upset UGA. It's going to take both for us to win.
That being said, UGA will have difficulty converting. Our D have become soldiers in 3rd down stops. Bet we see improvement across the board.
Its all about the run game, both ways....always seems to be

Team that executes.. stops the run.. and has least turnovers wins. Spot GA 7 pts home field advantage. TN has better athletes. All said. TN 31. GA 24.. couldgo other way depends on the first big Three... Vols beat Florida this year at home.. GA game will be a nail biter.. don't know if I can watch !!! Go vols

On a side note...It will be neat to see 2 NFl players pair up. AJ vs Gurley. My money is on AJ if he gets to the outside soon enough. GBO!

Gurley will probably run right past him. There's a reason why AJ came back for his senior year and Gurley will be gone after his Junior year, of course assuming Gurley stays healthy this year.
