I don't like the fact we don't have more DBs than we do. I want at least one more. Dorsey...

I would like to finish like:

Chaz Green- OL
Aire K- OL
K Prater- WR
D Baxter- RB
C Jones- LB
Lemonier- DE
Quarles- DL
Robey- DB
Dorsey- DB (Sign & Place if he doesn't have grades, he would pull up the class ranking and give us the inside track for next year, although I think he is going to WVU though)

Kick M. Dixon & Pair to the curb, maybe even Ralph Williams (although I like him).

kicking to the curb is kinda harsh don't ya think? I think we need Cullen in a bad way. I do like the list though. Are you leaving out John Brown? Cause if he gets in they may feel fine on not getting Quarles.

No way we just take two more OL AND kick Pair to the curb. And I don't see us taking Robey AND Dorsey. O-Line is our biggest need here. As much as I like Quarles and Lemonier, I would rather take one of the two and take another OL, such as Cullen or Coleman.

Let's not forget that Cullen is ready to start from day one. He has experience from JUCO and he's rated a 6.0 on Rivals, which is equivalent to a top 45-50 player.

Personally I think we keep M.Dixon unless he goes to Miami. Somebody was saying that they didn't think John Brown would make it in. If Pair, R.Williams, and J.Brown(If grades don't get him in) leave i would love that list of prospects! But I think if Pair leaves we take 3 OL, imo.

I left Cullen off my list and didn't mean to. I tthink we take 3 more OL. I see Williams, Pair, and Dixon being asked to look around. I think we take Robey & Dixon is Dorsey is not going to make it in, that was my point. If he is going to have the grades I would rather take Dorsey.

Agreed. If Pair leaves, we have two OL right now. We have to take at least 3 more.

What is the latest with John Brown's grades? That could be a possible slot......

This is how I see it.

OLine - Cullen and Green seem like locks right now. I think we have to take one more, but it may be a matter of "first come first serve" among Coleman, Arie, Robinson, and Wilson.

WR - Prater or Rogers. Prater seems to be the #1 target right now. He's the better player and has less baggage (Nance). However, if both wanted to commit, we would find a way to take them.

RB - Baxter may be a pipe-dream. It could happen, but if it doesn't, I think our staff is fine with not taking a RB.

DL - I think we will end up with either Quarles or Lemonier. Uko could come into play but I don't see him leaving the West Coast.

LB - I think we push hard to get one more LB. Jones name has come up alot lately but I'm not sure I see that one happening, but it could be a NSD surprise. Nelson could be the guy here. After his visit we will know more.

DB - I like Robey the most here of the guys we have shot at. I'm not all that high on Dorsey at DB. I think he's a great athlete with unbeivable speed (which we desperately need) but I think our staff is higher on Robey when it comes to playing in the secondary. And it doesn't look like Riley is all that interested in us.

Again, spots are tight. I personally don't like to see recruits "politely asked to look around" at the last minute. Especially guys like Ralph Williams, who has been committed since May.

As much as I love seeing these D-Linement sign up, OL is a bigger need right now. We already have 6 DL on board (ALL of whom are 4-stars), and we only have 3 OL right now (2 of which are 3-stars).

All this talk of recruiting has me fired up. One question though, anyone know anything about the coaching situation?

Do we have the RB/ST position filled or what? I thought Biscaccia was a done deal? Do we have a shot at the RB coach at USC I know he has been talked a lot about in these posts. You know his resume would be attractive to a lot of future backs to come through UT...

So when do we get Nuke's and Mike edwards scholys back or how does that work?

We will get them back over time. We are given a set amount of schollys we can give out each year. That number doesn't go up if you lose players. So we can't just add more players this year to "fill in" for Edwards, Nuke, B Warren, etc. Kiffin could have kicked 50 players off, but we'd still only be allowed 25 schollarship players this year.

So....we can only sign 27, we have 22 commits.

That only leaves us with 5 open spots....(not acknowleding the fact that we can sign and place 3 kids)

With all of the names out there these 5 spots could get crowded....

how do you see these last 5 spots shaping up??

I see this coaching staff as over recruiting, there is only a limit to how many we can sign, not on how many commitments we receive. I think if we have an opportunity to sign some big time players then we will, and those who are on the list that are over the number we can sign will see the writting on the wall and look elsewhere

Well, I think we're practically set on the D-line, and I think we're okay in the secondary. I don't understand why we're looking at some 3-star QB Nance, because we have Simms and Bray in this class, and we still have Stephens and Lamaison. I think WR is basically set (Prater wouldn't hurt, though).

I'm most concerned with the O-line. I think we'll still have Chaz Green, and I think Arie K. is strongly considering. And Stone is from Nashville and the Vols are atleast in his top 5.

My wishlist-
Arie K. OL
Chaz Green. OL
John Cullen. OL
Christian Jones. LB
and either Robey DB or another RB.

I know we had 23 sign last year but green was placed. So if he doesn't sign do we get that scholarship back? Also were any of the guys that signed last year (09) EE's? If so wouldn't they be back counted on to 08 class.

I asked the question once if any of last year's ee's were backcounted to 2008 and someone (I think it was Sab) said that they were not. Sab wasn't sure why but he knew that we only had 2 backcounts and last year's ee's counted towards the 2009 class. I think LWS said the same thing and Basilio's X has used the 27 number as well so its pretty well confirmed.
