Oh you know, pissing people off as normal. Quit smoking, and extremely proud of it, so I am spending my time being mean on message boards. How you been?

Also, since I seem to have ruffled some feathers by wishing death on that piece of **** Dobbs, I am sure that everyone can go back through my posting history and realize that it was an exaggeration. That said, I would be more than happy if a sudden scary icepick plague lobotomized almost the whole lot of American political pundits.

I see things haven't changed :)

I feel like one problem with my political commentary throughout my life has been that I just haven't reached my complete potential as a fuming a-hole. I intend to work on that. :)

So you said you quit smoking? couldn't tell :)

Yeah, I am surprised I am not facing murder charges yet. That said, I will tell everyone who will listen how proud of myself, that way I will keep with it. I am not too far in yet, but I am further than I was yesterday.

Strangely one thing that helped me quit was teeth whitening kits. I'm too cheap to let those overpriced things go to waste.

to some degree he's right, but isn't the argument that those financially successful pay absurdly outsized taxes for those benefits that America provides, even though it provides the same benefits for all of us?

I could get down with that.

The transcript is right on the white house website.

It's truly appalling that the President on the United States would say such a thing

Barry has a point.

I mean where would he be without affirmative action?

Beautifully done.

Or we could just ask him what government by the people for the people means....unless he wants to go all Al Gore on us and convince us that he invented government.

Lou Dobbs is on Fox about to have a seizure over these comments.

Msnbc was going crazy over fox editing the speech.

They played the entire speech, but it came
out just as bad. Our news media is a joke though.

If you ever read the twitter feed on Msnbc the hate those people have for republicans is actually scary.

I'm starting a business in a building that was foreclosed on last year. I got it for a steal. My office equipment was bought at a liquidation sale for pennies on the dollar.

Thank you, government.

To some degree I agree with him but not in anyway he said it. Because we live in America, people are given opportunities they would not find in other countries. Our freedom is what allows for success. That freedom was provided by others who came before us, including the Founding Fathers and every soldier that has served his country and protected and insured those rights. So yeah, his remarks were poorly worded but not completely without merit. Corporations, business owners , every American citizen owes a debt to those who have come before us and paved the way. In that sense, they very much didn't get there on their own. What they build comes from more than just their own blood, sweat, and tears. If the generations before hadn't made their marks, our society wouldn't be what it is. JMO.

I think many take for granted what we have here. Imagine how hard it would be to create these same businesses in Russia or China. I don't think you would see as much success.

As for the tax issue, I'll avoid it. I've made my thoughts clear elsewhere.

Your idea is nice but facts disagree. While we have more billionaires than anyone else China (not a free country) has 115 and Russia has 105.

I will also state I would have made money no matter where I was born. I am simply wired that way. Some people are wired to be doctors and preachers. Some are wired to be owners.

I will also state that if all businesses closed tomorrow the goverment and country would collapse in a matter of days. Without businesses there are no jobs to tax personal income on. The government needs us way more than we need it. It is why millionaires and billionairs float from country to country and give their citizenship up whenever it is in their best interest.

I would be interested in how many of those billionaires in China and Russia have govt connections(and how deep they run) and how many are homegrown. It's not impossible to succeed there, but it is more difficult.

Easy statement to make, Neo, but truthfully you don't know that. It takes more than hard work and determination to succeed. Those countries put a significant amount of stumbling blocks in place when it comes to finding success. Surely you admit it's easier to succeed here than it is there?

Again I disagree. Both sides need each other. No govt means no military which makes for bye bye U.S.A. No business means no revenue which means crumbling nation. The need is mutual to both sides. Yin and yang. They cannot succeed without the other.

Talking about billionaires who make their money in the U.S. then expatriate to avoid taxes doesn't really help your point IMO. Personally, I feel the govt needs to crack down on that as it's just another form of tax evasion. Bunch of rich cats that take advantage of a situation to sate their own greed.
