Bleedin... are you a Tennessee fan or a Martin fan?

I've never said a bad thing about Martin and done nothing but support him as our coach despite my screen name originally being Pearl related. I'm just asking because you don't handle criticism of Martin well. You act like people are crazy for being concerned and even try comparing our problems to Kentucky's. Difference is, our team isn't a bunch of freshman. Kentucky from top to bottom is made up of freshman year in and year out. Trying to compare us to them is a really bad comparison.

I can get behind this.

I think we can beat good teams but I also think we can lose to bad teams.

That's obviously the case for any team but I don't feel confident that bad teams are a guaranteed win. I also go into every game knowing we can beat good teams.

I don't know what to make of this team and our style of play.

The only thing I can really argue is that we haven't lost to a bad team yet.

We played well in the second half and I am glad, but you have to admit we have been ugly this year, especially against Georgetown and Virginia.

The fact is that this team is not going to the final 4. We're a good team that will make the the tourney. The goal should be to win an opening round tourney game, possibly 2.

But to say that this team (at 7-3) stinks is ridiculous. I don't understand the hate for Martin. He has this team playing about as well as one could expect with his best player sitting on the bench.

I don't think that every person that complains dislikes Martin. You guys know I really like him, but he does have room for improvement

Have you even seen them play against anyone not UT?

Absolutely he does. But guys blasting him when we're sitting at 7-3, and saying he's not going to get it done is nuts.

The team not having Maymon is affecting every guy on the team, especially Stokes. And all things considered, I'm happy with where they are.

Dies the O need to improve? Absolutely. And I think it will as these guys learn to play without Jeronne.

I went to the Georgetown and Virginia games....they are really missing Maymon right now and no one has surfaced yet as the dominant #2 ...give it time. I think they will get it figured out once Stokes stops trying to do it all and one of the young guys gets some confidence....

I'm a Tennessee fan first and foremost, and i was a big pearl fan. I still have signed pictures of me and pearl in my game room, I loved pearl.

My issue is the irrational fans, and those with no patience. When we win people are nowhere to be found, we beat Wichita and I never saw a post from this Vol 30 character. Now we come out slow and this dude appears and is just being negative. There are some posters who have questions about Martin and present their concerns in a valid manner and I have no problem with that, it's a message board.

Those that want to start threads after a half I basketball talking about how crappy we are just gets old. We are 7-3, have ZERO bad losses, and have a win over a ranked Wichita State team. At this point last year we were 4-6 with 3 HORRIBLE losses (Oakland, AP, COC).

Here's a good example, people were freaking out about how bad the O was in the first half. Threads were started about how bad we suck, people were saying we'd lose, negativity was everywhere....guess what??? We score 44 points in the 2nd half and win by 14 points. My point, maybe just wait people, wait to freak out. This offense is so horrible, but puts 44 up in the 2nd half, so what if they did that in the 1sr half? We score 88 points tonight? Last time I checked that's not a horrible offense.

Does this offense have issues, sure, but as I've said before, if we put up 65 points a night we are gonna have a damn good record because of our D. If people have an issue with 60 point offensive games, then sorry, but that's Martin ball. If it produces wins (which right now it is) then i have no issue with it.

Top, this wasn't all directed at you, just kind of a rant, hopefully that kinda answered your ?
