There's nothing false about it. ICE and border securtiy just needs to be ready at a given moment. So what if it slows things down for them. We can actually hire more with all the money it will save.

You aren't very smart. We have police officers driving around waiting on something to happen. What about firefighters, they sit around waiting on a fire. Should we fire the IT help desk because nobodys PC is fked up for months? That's part of the job.

Not entirely the same, but prior to 9/11 how many US planes had been hijacked using boxcutters or sharp weapons?

Just because something hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean a weakness isn't sitting there waiting to be exposed. Do we need to wait for a group of terrorists to come through the southern border and wreak havoc before both parties take it seriously?
