Week-by-Week Predictions Top 25 Teams

I'm cool Freak.

Didn't expect people to agree with me, but I don't like it when someone that doesn't even know me personally, and knows me very little even from this board, is going to call me names and accuse me of making these picks with emotions instead of knowledge.

Will I get them all right? No. But last season in a local prediction pool with my friends and coworkers, I was right over 80% of the time in our weekly contest. I know it was because of the research that I do going into a season. I'd like to see those same people using 50 words or less bashing me and my picks to take the time to predict over 310 games over the course of the entire season, two weeks out, and then see who does better, but something tells me they won't bother doing that.

I would respond but for two things. First, according to an earlier post I am dead. That is some seriously bad news as I had a hot date for Thursday. Also, I have a dental appointment tomorrow and they are going to charge me for being dead and not showing up. Second, that last little bit was 51 words, one more, apparently, than I am capable of using.

I still say 50 words for a dead guy is pretty good, though.

Also, I am aghast, aghast I tell you, that anyone who would post his week-by-week predictions for every game involving 25 teams would be aghast at people (like me) who question whether there was a little wishful thinking going on in him picking his own team to be the pleasant surprise of the year.

If you are going to post predictions, best be prepared for people to attack some of your picks as what they call in hurricane circles a little wishcasting.

I didn't see anyone call you a name on here. I did see a lot of people, including myself, speculate that your desire for UT to have a good year maybe got in the way of some of your thinking. So, let's stop the histrionics and the calling of those who dare to question you as simple-minded bashers.

You can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Or don't post predictions. Either way.

I predicted Notre Dame to lose 4 games on another thread...those being Michigan, Michigan State, Stanford, and USC. I think this year things don't go easy for the Irish, I think what mostly drives all this will be the collapse of the heisman touted qb.
Wouldn't it be SWEET with all the HYPE of the Irish , UT finishes ahead of them in the polls.Think Jimmy Clausen might possibly cry?:)

Oh Really? I think someone is using their heart to predict an easy win, when they should be saying there is a good possibility that ND loses.

Purdue beat ND 41-16 and 23-10 in 04 and 03. The two years before that, ND only beat Purdue by 6 and 7 points. Last Year, Notre Dame won by 21. The team "close to my heart" only lost by 20 to Notre Dame, so I assure you that outcome has NOTHING to do with my prediction.

You will remember that Notre Dame lost to Michigan St (yet again) last season. Michigan St. last season was no where near as good as Purdue will be this year.

Purdue doesn't play Michigan or Ohio St. They have thirty seniors and half of those are fifth year seniors. Tiller averages nine wins a season, and there is no reason that they won't match that this year. Most of that team has beaten ND twice, once at South Bend. This will be the third time playing there, so I don't see that being much of an advantage. (I've been there, it's not exactly intimidating for opponents. Nice job selling out to all the Nebraska fans a few years back!)

I understand you like Notre Dame, and that's cool. But don't throw insults my way, by trying to say that I am making decisions with my heart, when I spent HOURS sharing this with everyone here. I did my research, and I picked based on that research.

Settle down Francis - my point was that I disagree with you, not an attack on your way of life and your hard work. Purdue has had a TON of off-season issues, and last I read, they had a terrible spring. I guess my question should have been - what led you to the conclusion that Purdue would beat ND whereas every other person on the planet thinks ND will win? And for the record - I never said I disagreed with you Michigan prediction - I have it as the biggest game on the Irish schedule.
