Welcome Assistants!! (OFFICIALLY)

Lazo is the only hire that is worth a flip here. Tubner has not accomplished anything and the other two from Marshall have no idea what a SEC player looks like. And we are excited?
How would you know?

Young assistant coaching hires are going to be an impossible thing to gauge. How do you quantify them with anything meaningfully tangible? These people are early into their careers. If you want to say "unproven," that is true .... just like with Caldwell, we are in a wait and see stage.

They trolling hard with small trouser bait… 😉😈

Based on what I’ve seen this week from CKC, I’m becoming a big fan. The staff hires, roster retention, Jewel Spear returning, upcoming portal visits. I LIKE IT!

The staff gives modern basketball vibes. I hope to see a better product - especially on offense. If the Xs and Os are there, LOOK out. (Saying this with a lot of caution)

What are you hoping for next season for this team, competing for a Championship or just being middle of the pack?

Right now, I’m not looking at it that way.

Here’s my hopes for the season. Early preseason edition.

1) That we don’t dig ourselves in a whole in the first half and rely on major comebacks to have a chance of winning. Kellie’s teams often looked unprepared to start games vs ranked (or quality) opponents.

2) Little-to-no game slippage in 4th quarters. This was another issue for KJHs teams in BIG games. If they started off well, you knew major game slippage was coming at some point.

3) Better end of quarter execution. If next years PG repeatedly challenges the other teams post players and CKC doesn’t say anything, I’m changing the channel 😂 PG play has been consistently underwhelming since Ariel Massengale graduated. I want to see high, IQ play from the point position.

4) Competitive edge. Swag. Fire. Passion. I feel like this has been missing since since 2014 when we had Izzy, Meighan, Bashaara and Cierra.

5) Better offensive execution. Jewel Spear can’t be the offense. How will CKC put other players in a position to succeed on that end?

These are some of my early metrics. Ask me again when the schedule comes out.

I don’t have expectations but once the roster is finalized I think I’ll have a good idea on how the season will turn out. If we can get the best portal players we can compete for a final four spot, but if we just get a bunch of reserves it will probably be close to how this season went.

I don’t think any one player “will be the offense”

Also she said November isn’t her friend 🙈 so buckle up buckaroos

Not my call. The incentive is in the contract. As a successful coach I am certain it is her goal and it should be. A winner does not settle for anything less. I believe it is possible.
Before I put you and your vapid sparring partner ("No no keep going" ) on ignore, I want to let you know that everyone saw you sneakily backtrack from what "will be" (#391) to now "I believe" and "it is possible." And you are not "certain" what CKC thinks about anything. I'm glad you are enthusiatic about our prospects, I am too, but you really should chill a bit.

Do the assistants also have clauses making them the highest-paid assistants after winning a national championship?

Several questions come to mind about contracts. There are only four active women:s coaches with a championship now that Vanderveer has retired: Auriemma (11), Mulkey (4), Staley (3), Frese (1).

So White's deal is to match the salaries of coaches who have won multiple championships after Kim wins her first. That upsets the pecking order of salaries based upon performance, so one could assume that the other schools will renegotiate salaries to reflect the achievement of their coaches. Will White continue to raise Caldwell's salary in that event?

Maybe White is counting on Auriemma and Mulkey retiring soon ) thus lowering the threshold for top salary. The fly in the ointment will be Staley, who appears to have a number of years left with no sign of letting up.

It is more moderate and reasonable not to invent all sorts of thoughts and aims for people.
