I think we did well considering the amount of time we had to do it in.

I think we did well also. Kiffin got everyones hopes up by getting some of these BIG name guys on campus the past few weeks, when in reality we didnt have enough time to get them on campus for 4 years. It takes time to build relationships with these recruits & earn their trust along with their parents trust too. It also didnt help we went 5-7 last year.

But the 2010 class got off on the right foot today by picking up Jacques Smith, hopefully its a sign of great things to come for 2010 NSD.

Maybe its basically over, except for TWO, Brown and may be Janzen Jackson? Seems like if JJ was a lock for LSU, he would have gone ahead and pulled that trigger already.

IF...and a big IF...we pull Brown then I'll be next to ecstatic(sp)...because it means Kiffin locked down the state in basically 2 months...which is a sign of good things to come...

I also like today because it makes next years objectives pretty clear....a stud QB and the remaining schollies for OL's and DL's

Wonderful... terrific... have some more orange kool-aid.

In all seriousness, it went very, very poorly. UT's greatest needs were OL and DT. They went backwards on both positions.

There is a bright side though... The Vols look like they may just squeak by MSU for 9th in the SEC if Brown signs with UT.

the day isn't over yet, but i think you look at this for what it is. they're first class, and they got it together in less than 3 months, while not having a complete staff in place until last month.

they got a lot of kids to at least make a visist. they got a couple to come our way. they lost a couple.

they get a passing grade from me for the 1st stab at this.

i think it' only gets better going forward.

We missed the boat on OL...I like that we got Teague a lot....and Nu'Keese was a big pickup, but not necessarily where we had a lot of need...though I am very happy to have him. Letting Phillips go was a big problem. And...making Marlon priority #1 and then missing out on him as we are getting ready to do is a let down.

Staff grade? F-

Class grade? D+ if we get Brown, D- if we don't.

Say what you want, make every excuse you want but these guys were billed as the recruiters from top to bottom. They were supposedly so great at recruiting that it was supposed to be an "unfair advantage" according to some.

I guess they are good at selling something, themselves cause they sure did take a top 5 class and turn it into a huge failure.

I would say Kiffin fell flat on his face.

This class wasn't a top 5 class...we did turn away a big QB recruit, a big WR recruit (who we replaced), and a couple of big RB recruits...but there is no way we went from top 5 to bottom of the cellar. But, I would agree that I wish we could have done better...but I'm glad we got the kids we did.

Top 5? Really, shows you haven't been paying attention.
