Well Tebow is staying (merged)

The reason he did not leave is that the NFL scouts told him to come back and refine his skills. I think they did not want to break the news to him that he would only be a 5th or 6th roud pick at qb. But all that will happen is the same old thing running around acting gay as always.

Tebow better stay in college because he will never make it in the NFL. If he thinks he can run like he does in college, his career won't last very long. He will get creamed in the NFL

Or so you say. I actually have come around to say that Tebow will make a fine pro. His release, which would be the main criticism of most NFL scouts, has gotten exponentially better the last few years. It's something that can be corrected. Tebow has two things however, that cannot be coached. Determination, and heart.

Peyton announced his return in a much more adult manner... I'll be honest with you though... I like Tebow. He's Florida's Peyton or David Pollack in terms of how beloved he is by the fans (and how disliked he is by opponent's fans...) He made the right choice however. He's not an NFL caliber QB and it wouldn't suprise me to see him play at a different position in the pros...

Tebow better stay for his senior year. It will be his last year to play football ..FOR LIFE! He will not play in the NFL. He will probably beat our VOLS again next year...dangit. I can't stand that egocentric punk. He should just go do mission work after his senior year and not even bother with the NFL!

:eek:lol:

He is actually quite the opposite in the way he carries himself, at least from what I've seen.

This thread makes us sound like pathetic, whiney losers, jealous of someone else's success. "Oh dear, he'll never make it in the NFL." I could care less what a guy does in the NFL. What I'm interested in is what he did on the field at UT. Johnny Majors never made it as a pro, but he was a great, great college player. Give credit where credit is due and get over it. I've been waiting three years to see the kid get laid out by some crushing blow, but he got up after every hit and gave back more than he received. I would take him here in a New York minute. If he had accomplished what he has done at UT instead of Florida we would be naming the stadium after him.

Tebow wants to come back and try to do something that UF has never done, that's to have a "undefeated" season. The one thing since the inception of their football program that has eluded them. Good luck to Tebow next year and may he represent the SEC well.

One note to the Vol football team:

Even if this team is in "rebuilding" mode and may happen to only win a handful of games next year due to a transition period, make it a priority to win the one game that will keep UF from accomplishing the one thing that few other SEC teams have done in modern college football. We may not be in contention for the SEC title, the MNC or even the eastern division but keep UF from going 14-0. Cirlce the date. Give it your all and leave it all on the field for 60 minutes.

Wreck it. In Gainesville. Wreck it. If that is the one game to win, make it that one.

I would flip out and run screaming around Gainesville to release all this pent up energy from the last few years. At least we were beating the Gators when I first moved here or I don't think I'd have been able to handle it. I literally laugh out loud every time I see somebody a "King of College Sports" t-shirt here.

Hard not to be egocentric when you've accomplished what he has. It is very annoying to me though, obviously. I knew he was coming back as well because most NFL scouts put him in the 2nd/3rd round at best for draft. Hell, if they win another national title (undefeated or not), then he would go down as the best college QB ever. But, if a Heisman winning, 2-time national title QB in CUM's system cannot go early in the NFL draft, then it should hurt their QB recruiting going forward.

I want to see SOMEBODY stop Tebow when he runs the ball on the third and three! He's a tough guy and all--but c'mon, it's absurd that nobody can take him down before he makes a first down on third down--when everybody in the stadium knows he's going to run it.

This is what i was looking for when I started this thread. When its 3rd and 3 and YOU KNOW he's gonna run the ball, how will CMK's scheme defend it?:banghead2:

Love the avitar......
You made a stupid post. Tebow is a winner and a leader. I'm a Seminole fan and HATE UF! But the kid is classy, GREAT player, and a better person. How can you hate that kid? Come on. Don't be jealous. He will be a good NFL player. Either at Qb or H-Back. Maybe not a Pro-Bowl player, but a long life in the league.

Tebow in the Philippines; a philippino national preacher, while preaching in our church, thanked America for the "3-Ms"... missionaries, money, and McDONALDS! Priceless.

He came back because he enjoys college football. Likes being a winner. Who doesn't? He'll be gone the next year when we'll have our feet on the ground. One more year of grousing about UF and we'll be competitive. That's it.

I know someone who's seen everything and may be able to stop Tebow's gimmicky crap.

Monte don't give a f***.

It doesn't matter if Tebow will be successful in the NFL. He's not saying that he will be a great NFL player. You can degrade him all you want and say that he's not going to do anything in the NFL, but that won't change what he's done in college and the probability that he will continue to run over everyone next year as well.

I can guarantee you this. If Tebow played for the Vols and had won 2 National Championships plus a Heisman like he has at Florida, then he would be revered a lot more than Peyton even though Peyton will likely have 10x the NFL career that Tebow will have. Tebow has done a lot more on the college level (albeit Peyton should've won a Heisman) and should be recognized for that. Like others have said ... don't be ignorant and jealous.

I hope we beat Florida by 50 next year. But, I'm smart enough to realize when there is a great player on the field even if he's not wearing orange.

I'm just of the opinion that it is 95% mental. With Fulmer we faced the Gators with a "can't do" attitude. I believe we have the staff now with fire in their bellies. Do you remember the 85(I believe) Sugar Bowl with Miami. We were 14 point underdogs. Final was 35-7 UT!!!!!!
no. your point is correct for the TN teams that lost to FL under Fulmer in the 90's. that was a head game that spurrier and gators won and parlayed in to a bevy of conf. titles. but the difference between then and now is then our talent matched, if not outmatched, the gators.

that is not true today.

this is a classic example of what i was afraid was going to happen with gator fans and another national title. fyi, you've just become a relevant factor in the sec since the 90's
:cray: what a terrible statement to make considering how relevant they are now to us. i don't think they'll care when they go get sized for the conf and NT rings.....again..........

Tebow is having a great time in college, why would he give that up for an uncertain future in the NFL? I think that you will see him pass more next year and work on his delivery skills.

Get a clue. Tebow is a great person. I'm not saying that it's not annoying to hear the media suck up to him b/c that does get annoying. But don't hate Tebow for that. And I'm willing to bet a lot of money that if it was Eric Berry yelling "I'm coming back!" that you would think that was the most awesome thing of all-time.

There's a big difference in saying you're coming back to help the team try to win a championship, and screaming "we're gonna do it again 'cause I'm coming back!'. I wanted to hurl. He's probably got pictures of himself in his wallet.

I honestly can't see why people say he's such a good guy, so classy. So classy he taunts his opponents, makes gestures to opposing fans, and bring attention to himself. Sure, he does his little missionary trips (as long as there's a camera around). So did Jim Baker before he got sent to prison.

I don't think I'm the one who needs a clue.

His name is Bakker. I guess when Al Wilson did something awesome on the field he didn't let anyone know about it or try to get anyone pumped up at the game. It's not his fault that the media has obsession with sports and the media blows things waaaay out of proportion. He uses his platform and it's the cards he's been delt in life. Let him do what he wants to do. He wants to live his life for the Lord and use his platform, let 'em. He has touched lives, maybe not yours, but other people have been blessed by having this guy, and not just Gator fans either. It's refreshing for anyone to hear about a guy who serves others before himself and takes alotta pride in the University he goes to. I'm not telling you to get a clue b/c everyone is free to have their own opinions. Maybe take a step back and just because he goes to hated UF doesn't mean this kid isn't a great leader or a great person.

Did you ever see Al Wilson make gestures to the opposing fans or taunt his opponents? I didn't

And for the last time, what the hell makes Tebow such a great person? Saying you're a Christian or whatever is not enough. Plenty of thugs say the same thing. I've seen evidence he's a jerk plenty of times.
