Well this late season run has been great but

relax- we will probably be a top 20 team next year all year. I predict 24-25 wins(maymon and Hubbs). This years team will get to 20 wins or more

I think you had to expect this team to drop one of these final games. I'm actually happy that it happened now. Because if we win out, we finish strong and we are IN!

If CCM does not make it to the AA tourney this year or next, he should be canned, no ifs, ands and butts!!!

That would be 3 years w/out an AA birth - in a program that had made it there 6 years in a row. That VN is regression not progression!

Still don't think you fire him at that point. We agree about the previous 6 years, but Pearl was an elite coach who did a beyond great job here. That's why I can't believe it when people bang on him. So I would say that Cuonzo certainly isn't Pearl, Cuonzo isn't an elite coach. But, he's a couple or 3 wins from making the tourney in his 2nd year after barely missing last year. I'm not a Martin apologist at all. There are some things that trouble me a little bit - sometimes they just look poorly coached, I can't figure out why some of those athletes he has just don't look like very good basketball players, why he refuses to ever run a zone when it looks like its required. However, at other times they look fantastic, play hard, look like a top 10-15 team. Maybe he just needs a little extra time to figure it all out and get it together. I'm willing to give it to him beyond next year if for no other reason because of the need for continuity in the program.

You hate to drop one at all, but yes, at least we can learn from it.

Maybe because he set a higher standard than what we are seeing. And for the record I think CCM will be fine but people like Patrick who point out he has done nothing to inspire great confidence get blasted for not declaring him the second coming. Same ole Dooley crowed that told people they were idiots for not drinking the Doolaid. Those calling names will act like nothing happened if CCM does not get it done.

Tourney this year he is on pace, no tourney given injuries I can excuse and understand. Next year tourney or bust. No excuses after that.

2-0 plus a win or 2 in sect is the formula to get into the ncaat...but you are right, absolutely no way should you be missing the ncaat for 3-4x yrs if you can coach. This is a top 10 attendance program in the country with great resources at your disposal. Not saying missing next year and this equals automatic dismissal but there should be a conversation.

...and for the record Bruce Pearl was fantastic for UT but many view his accomplishments in a better light because of the non basketball stuff...his personality and the excitement he brought. But there wasn't that much that separated his record from Jerry Green's if you look at it objectively. And they played with similar talent...a few fringe nba players worth a cup of coffee in the nba at best. Martin needs to make sure the "do they really LIKE me?" question can be answered in his favor. That didn't work out so well f Green.

Pearl-70.4% overall, 67.7% SEC, 1 SEC Title in 6 yrs,

Green-71.2% overall, 64.1% SEC, 1 SEC Title in 4 yrs

Pearl had more success than Green did in the NCAA's. His SEC title was outright too. Only Green could lose by 30 to a Southwest Missouri St (now known as Missouri St) team in the NCAA tourney. At least Pearl lost by 30 to Michigan and that is after he and the team found out just a couple days earlier that he was going to be fired because his AD was an incompetent fool.
