While UT may be in, with the way they have played to close the season they do not deserve to be. As a fan I don't even want to see them there so this embarrassment can end. I'll cheer for them, but no doubt I'll end up frustrated and po'd like so many games this year.

We aren't losing to Arkansas. It will be a good thing that we lost to them in Fayetteville. Clarke played dout of his mind that game and we will have Pearl back.

We are in people geez. Maybe we don't "deserve" it but we are in. Be happy that we are. If you compare us to other bubble teams we have way better RPI, strength of schedule and quality wins.

how are the 2 Belmont wins looking? look at our SOS and top 100 wins. no one is claiming we are making it in simply because of a win over pitt.
It seems to be the most quoted factor in our favor.

A strong SOS means litle when you lose 14 games. Fans are deluding themselves into thinking we're a lock, but 11-13 since mid-December says otherwise. At 18-14 with the finish we've had, the NCAA would strain credibility to put us in over a lot of teams.

This. Look at Michigan St.

like to know how we are going to improve at the rate of uk if we have no bruce pearl and lose harris/hopson to draft...and we couldnt even beat that crap uk team so we will have to improve leaps and bounds...

not at the same rate as UK, I didnt say that. Im just saying that we should improve on this year. If this team regresses too much, the NIT would be a long shot.

Way too early for that. There are tourneys to be played still yet. If the favorites win out, i think TN is in for sure because the bottom is sooo ugly, but with a few surprises a Tn loss in the first round then things get way more complicated in my opinion.

hope harris/hopson stay or NIT will be a reality like in the Buzz Ball era

Here's a scenerio,, I keep hearing that alabama is on the bubble. What if it comes down to one more sec team and its between alabama and TN what do u think the NCAA does?

No. We lost every tight game and got outcoached/outplayed in the second half. The abortio at the end of the first actually ignited the whole thing.

I'm really getting sick and tired of all the negative comments about our lying, cheating coach and underachieving players.

This^ plus the refs had their hands in it also

Clearly, but that's a Pearl coached team theme. I don't understand it, but we have been killed on that front forever. That stretch in the second half was inexcusable, but we get that most nights.

All those saying we're a lock because that's what the experts show, should realize those scenarios are if the season ended at that moment. A team at 18-12 with a guy like Hopson playing great ball is one thing. A possible 18-14 team coming off a home loss and a loss in the first round to a horrible team will be hard pressed to get in. I personally believe VCU winning the Colonial would be better for us. That's another conference champion, and tourney team we would have beaten.

Coach Pearl is the best thing to ever come to ut basketball........... this team has let him down this season .. they are not playing together they are not complimenting each other on the court.. no matter what happened as a player u back up ur coach and speak for him with ur play on the court.. other than harris hopson goins hall bone and sp today no one else came to play an entire game today........................................

I'd sort of need to know the other 60 teams first....

Someone mentioned Alabama. No way I'd put UT in over Bama. They've got a better conference record, a better record overall, and won on UT's home floor. IMO, that trumps UT's early season success.

There's going to be a lot of disappointed fans come next Sunday, unless we have a big SEC tournament.
