Frankly, if you believe UK's status as defending champ or a top 5 all time program will carry any weight you are not very smart. Save the conspiracy theories knuckleheads and educate yourselves...there are plenty of examples of basketball's blue bloods being left out when on the bubble. You really think the committee is invested in such infinitesimally small marginal differences in ratings or attendance? That's just dumb

OK...help me understand how putting kentucky in the ncaa tournament helps the

What does the ncaa have to do with the selection committee? Are you saying that they are going to secretly come in and make a.presentation on sunday? "Psst...hey guys, wink wink...take a good look look at UK and they'll be something special for you?" If so, really an embarrassing argument. Why the F does a committee member vote UK in over a team he feels is better. Conspiracy theories like this are for fools...don't be one.

This is how the world operates. Don't be niave. Think about notre dame football.

I don't believe that they are going to put Ky in over a team with a much better resume. I do believe that if they are down to their last spot and have four teams with resumes that are pretty equal that Kentucky gets the nod.

And for what it's worth, Kentucky would not make a "small" difference in attendance. However, that wouldn't concern the committee.

Ky will be lucky to win one game if they make the tourney. They don't get to play games at coRUPPt arena.

No reason to panic about UK, we can both get in. UK also needs to win their first game, and depending on the Arkansas team that shows up, they could beat them.

The only way I see UK getting knocked out is if they lose 1st game and UT wins 1 and gets in, Bama beats UT and gets in, then Mizzu wins the tourney and gets in.

I asked a simple question.."how would that work?" Tell me how UK might impact attendance at a venue since you think it is a large factor and secondly, why would a committee member put in uk over a more deserving team? Simple questions.

I'm not understanding.

I don't think attendance would be a factor with the committee. If you read my post you'll see that.

Someone said that they would have a small impact on attendance. That is inaccurate. They travel as well or better than any fanbase in America. Tune in to any SEC tourney game this week and you'll see. And it doesn't even have to be a ky game. They'll be in force for all games. They are basketball junkie robots.

Why would they get the nod over another team? Several reasons. Prestige, name recognition, more attractive team for TV, they have nba players on their roster, etc.

I'm not saying the committee is going to put them in over a team that is heads and shoulders above ky when you compare resumes. I'm saying that if you have 5 or 6 teams including the wildcats with indistinguishable resumes, you best believe Kentucky is going dancing.

Why would "prestige, nba players, name recognition", etc cause a committee member to choose uk over another team?

What is your best guess as to how kentucky might impact attendance at an ncaa 1st round event? How many more tickets might they sell and why would the avg committee member give a crap? What's it matter to them?
