Well

I love conspiracy theories w no evidence...

None of the people you mentioned HAVE ANY SAY IN WHO IS SELECTED

Ok..how would that work in theory? He bribes the members? Do you realize how many people such a conspiracy would involve? You a truther also?

I think it's just as absurd to believe that our notion is absurd. Every aspect of our lives is influenced by money.

As small and insignificant as it may seem to stick UK in there as an at large bid as a 12 seed, it really would be a big deal to several heavy hitters. I know if I bid on hosting an opening round of the NCAA, I want Kentucky in my city. They travel better than any fan base in America. I know if I'm an advertiser buying commercials for the first round, I would want my ads shown in the ky game over Boise state. So if I'm selling the rights to be a host city or selling the advertising for the NCAA tourney, I want Kentucky in the field because it means $.

To your point, the AD of Utah state may not care about such things but those who put him in that position most likely do.

How would a booster influence an athletic director? How would a lobbyist influence a politician?

I'm not saying that this is for sure happening and I don't have any evidence that it does. I'm saying that its very plausible. I'm also saying that it happens in every day life but it especially happens when there is more at stake.

I am not saying the committee would risk their credibility by putting in unworthy teams. I'm saying that ky gets in if they are equal to a much less prestigious team.

You are talking like we are accusing a specific individual of committing a specific crime. I don't believe that a handful of old dudes get together in a room and draw up the brackets with zero influence whatsoever. I just don't believe it. Too much money at stake.

Uhh...because each of those people rely on the support of those people to keep their high paying job. "What's in it for them?" is easy to answer...am still waiting on that for the 10 people in charge of selecting teams...

I guess you are waiting on me to provide receipts from a ATM withdrawal.

I just don't believe that the NCAA and all those who are impacted by the committees decisions are going to be left at the mercy of some guy from random university. I'm not talking like there's some guy who walks in to the room and throws a suitcase full of cash on the table. I'm speaking of more indirect influence.

I also don't believe that a committee is above influence.

How might such influence plausibly be applied?

By making it in their best individual interest to do what is in the best interest of the powers that be.

If you want me to say that these guys get a suitcase filled with hundreds, I'm not going to do that.

And for the last time, you're assuming that this committee has complete control from the beginning. I'm not necessarily buying into that completely. It may seem far fetched to you but I have seen similar things happen in real life.

How would they "make it in their best interests?"

It is indeed crazy to believe something like that with not only no evidence but mountains of evidence to the contrary in that hundreds of people have served on the committee without saying anything of the sort has happened.

What "similar things have you seen happen in real life?"

It is ridiculous to believe such conspieacies as more plausible than the alternative, especiall when they would necessarily involve hundreds of people

Ok.

Well....

Lunardi on halftime show said UK win doesn't do anything to UT, if Vols win they're back in and somebody else is out. Said UK still needs to win at least one more to solidify their spot.

That makes zero sense. He moved UK over us and we got bumped out despite beating Mizzou. He's full of it
