We're 7-1 despite having played only 1 complete game all year...

I was literally the only person not panicking after the loss to Arkansas. I predicted we would beat Florida and Alabama while the rest of yall predicted we wouldn't because how could we beat Alabama after losing to Arkansas. Not really a kiss of death if you ask me. More like I'm our good luck charm this season because everything I predicted is coming true.

This is a National Championshio contending team. The Defense is elite. The running game is elite. The pass game is the lone unit that needs to get going. If Nico continues to plays like he did in the Kentucky game, we have a shot to win out. The receivers have to turn the corner.
Or find a way to scheme up Braylon or Matthews. LFG!

If you just look at our games against Power Four competition, we've really only played our A game against one team (NC State). Against every other opponent it's either been our C game or worse. Even our biggest win of the season against Alabama shouldn't have been as close as it was if we don't shoot ourselves in the foot.

Now there are two ways to read this situation. Either we're a flawed team that has been winning despite it's flaws OR we're a super talented team that has underperformed. I believe it's the latter. And not just for wishful thinking. If we were a flawed team we would be struggling offensively with the same things every week. But that's not been the case. Every week it's been a different position group messing up. One week it's Nico struggling with accuracy. Next week it's the receivers dropping easy passes. Another week it's the o-line struggling with pass protection. Then it's our field goal kicker missing easy kicks. It's seems like a different problem each week. This is actually a good sign. It means our offensive struggles are not the result of a deeper structural flaw that can only be addressed in the off-season. We're actually solving our issues from the week before. It's just that new problems arise randomly.

At some point we're gonna stop shooting ourselves in the foot and play a complete game up to our potential. When we do that watch out. Cause it means we can beat anyone. I wouldn't be surprised if we have our best offensive performance since the start of SEC play over the next two weeks.

Would be nice if we play “that game” against Georgia. Teams usually have a game where they just put it all together and can do nothing wrong. I’m 2022, it was LSU. In 2021, it was Missouri. In 2023, it was SC. Would love for it to happen in Athens this year.

Kiss of death from everyone's favorite sunshine pumper, D4H
He’s not wrong though. We haven’t put it all together where we’ve clicked at the same time. The good news is that Nico has played his best football of the year the last 6 quarters. He’s trending in the right direction. We have to minimize mistakes on the O line because they keep getting us off schedule and behind the sticks. The last 3 games we’ve had 3 turnovers on opening drives in the red zone or inside the 30. That’s execution and not on coaching . That has to change.

Even against NCSU we played poorly on offense until the interception in the first half.

No. It was a normal back and forth game early on. Even bad teams have moments in a game where they can look competitive. NC State played as tough early. We held our own. Then we broke their will with the pick 6 and never looked back. I never felt we were playing bad at any moment during that game.

I think you'll get your wish. I believe we play our best game of the season at Athens and come out with a huge win.

What about your predictions on Dobbs winning super bowls?

How so? It's not like we've had a bunch of last second miracle comebacks. We played poorly in the first halves of games offensively only to correct it in the second half with good performances. Even in the Florida game that went into OT we controlled the game in the 4th quarter with Florida needing a miraculous last minute drive to tie it up.

We're a team that has been our own worst enemy rather than a team who is about to be exposed.
We have played one good, not great team, bama. The rest were mediocre to awful. we lost to one of the mediocre ones. I hope we can make the playoffs and do well, but we’ve played an easy schedule to this point. Beat Georgia, or at least keep it real close, and beat vandy and I’ll be a believer.

If we can put a complete game together, no one can beat us

we're just too inconsistent and whenever we are driving, we shoot ourselves in the foot with penalties or turnovers

lol. Wow what a stretch to say our offense should look great against MSU. They are literally the worst defensive team in the SEC. And against UGA? lol. Our offense will like like it has every year we have played them, pedestrian. Our WRs are mediocre at best. Nico is average. Our offensive play calling is borderline terrible.

We are a flawed team. Our first half offensive woes proves that. You said Arkansas would be an easy win and that we easily win out. We barely beat a depleted UK team who is literally the worst offensive team in the SEC. Hopefully our defense is getting worn out. They are basically the only reason we have the wins we do.
Freudian slip
“ Hopefully our defense is getting worn out”

If Bama (a top 11 team) is just good and not great then whose beaten a great team this year? Just Oregon, Georgia, and Ohio State? Cause they're the only teams with 1 loss or less that have a win over a team ranked higher than Alabama.

For whatever reason, the O struggles coming back after a bye week and it stops the momentum. Hopefully, the O continues to ascend throughout the rest of the regular season.

I'm glad that we play MS State before playing UGA.

You can question the play calling all you want but I just don't see the problem with the offensive calls against KY. The OC or Heupel schemed 3 TDs that weren't caught and 3 makeable FGs that were missed and we still won by 10. It is hard however to fault Kitselman with his drop though because the DB just made a great play knocking the ball out when it hit the TEs hands. I have seen enough bad football over the past 20 years and will not poo poo a 10 point SEC win ever.

If UT hasn't worked out the kinks by the UGA game, they never will this season. Counting spring practice, "voluntary" 7 v 7 summer workouts, fall pre-season and 9 games in.....the millionaire coaches should have figured it out. If there were injuries all over the place and you're playing 2nd and 3rd string - that would be different. But most of our starters are still starting (if not all of them). So...... we'll see.

All very valid and great points. I would like to see Nico continue to improve and at the same time want him to secure the football a little better while in the pocket or scrambling
