We're not going to fire Jeff Fisher either!

Noone's giving any suggestions except the "these guys already won championships and aren't coaching" examples
How many championships does Fisher have? I can think of three coaches who have Super Bowl rings who are working in TV right now, and that's not including Dungy or Johnson, who I don't think would come back. There are plenty of coaches out there with resumes as good or better than JF.

Fisher will do better in a smaller market team.

he would never accept the job coaching the Chiefs, Bills, Bengals, or Seahawks. He might go to Tampa Bay or Jacksonville and in an ironic twist, Houston.

Jerry Jones would offer Fisher the world on a biscuit.

Ok give me some names. All I'm asking is for someone to start naming some coaches right now who can make this team better/bring the type of improvement it needs and aren't us saying "bring in the guys who already won championships - dungy, cowher, shannahan" b/c not only are those three not coming, but it's in the exact same veign as during our coaching change when innumerable fans were calling for "spurrier, butch Davis, and Pete Carroll"

...I'd be doing back-flips and cartwheels if the Titans managed to lure Gruden away from his lifetime contract with the Bucs.

Not sure why you think Shanahan particularly wouldn't coach in Nashville. Dungy is clearly retired so I wouldn't think he'd be a possibility. It's widely assumed that Cowher wants to coach again just close to Raleigh.

Odd that Dungy couldn't.

Well was kinda one of the rare cases too where a coach (Dungy) was fired after making the playoffs that season and losing a wild card.....after being in the playoffs 3 out of his last 4 seasons too

What makes you think none of those guys would come here? Dungy I agree with. I think he's through coaching. Cowher, Shannahan, and Gruden are all avaliable, and they all have a better resume than Fisher. For that matter, so does Brian Billick, although I wouldn't personally want him here.

No it's not. Spurrier, Davis, and Carroll all have coaching jobs we were trying to lure them away from. None of the above mentioned NFL coaches are currently with a team.

This WILL NOT get any better until Bud Adams shuts up and they get Fisher out of the front office. A head coach doesn't need to be a GM type and the owner doesn't know how to coach. Take care of those 2 problems and get Adams to sign some bigger checks and we might have a chance at being a good football team again.

I believe Cowher is going to Carolina after this season.

The Raiders were Gruden's team and they made it to the Super Bowl.

....under Bill Callahan.

I mean you're getting into some weird back and forth here.

Reality is that yeah Gruden won a super bowl; however he did it with dungy's team....adding back that his raiders team made it the super bowl kinda brings it to a near similar level, but really it doesn't add up to quite the same

That's been on rumor mill for a while now; while I'm not surprised if he ends up going there....I could also see him trying his hand at one of the worse, small market NFL teams too

I don't think Adams is the penny-pincher. I think that's more Reinfeldt (the GM)...all the small contracts and letting guys go started when he came into his position in 2006

How so?

The argument was Gruden couldn't build a Super Bowl team, yet he met his former team in the Super Bowl the year he left.

Did Oakland cut all of their players when Gruden left and somehow Callahan built a better team in one season?

Well, it gets slightly lessened by the fact he won with another guy's team. The debate wasn't whether or not he could build a team to get to a super bowl. (But that team didn't win it).....this is going to get into a messy cycle if you keep this going.

The end result was though he won with Dungy's team....his team was good for a year but didn't win a Super Bowl

Just b/c they're available, doesn't mean they'll come here....the Titans aren't really a "wow, I want to be part of that market!" team

And actually it very much is similar. When we were throwing out Fulmer, all the list of guys we first brought up - these guys and more - were all coaches who had already won championships. (BTW, there was no way we were near going to be able to lure Spurrier or Carroll; and the reason Davis was so hot on our lists was just because of what he had done in Miami).

It reeks heavily of that same similarity of "My teams bad; the obvious solution is to bring in the guy who already won a championship" that the early days of "who's after Fulmer" were full of too
