For some reason I'm actually buying this one. We have tried to hire Bisaccia twice over the last 3 years. Kiffin had him on the hook and may have even had an agreement in principle just before he bolted to USC. Dooley tried again this past off season but didn't land him. There may be something about Tennessee that he likes he has certainly been in the conversation. These names being dropped don't come cheap this guy is the assistant head coach for the Chargers and Morris is a former NFL head coach. I just can't imagine Gruden, Morris and Basaccia plus whoever else associated with Gruden on the same college staff. James Franklin would soil his panties if this actually happened. Sounds like an NFL staff to me but who knows maybe Gruden has enough love for Volnation to make it happen. If we got a staff like that I would have some grow man tears I know that. The following are not recent quotes as in the last few weeks or anything but still interesting. Gruden is talking about Bisaccia.
I coached a long time, heÂ’s one of the best coaches IÂ’ve worked with and IÂ’m not just trying to be his agent or publicity manager. HeÂ’s a tremendous football coach, great with players, smart, works his butt off. IÂ’d hire him as a head coach. If I was in position to interview people and look for quality candidates and heÂ’s certainly one of the best IÂ’ve been around.
Special teams guys — he’s not an offensive coach or a defensive coach, he’s kind of a wefence guy. He was my running backs coach, special teams coordinator, jack of all trades. He’s very good at personnel; he’s got a vast amount of experience. I hope he does get an opportunity to present himself. Sometimes that’s all people need is a chance to get in front of the people that are making these decisions. – Jon Gruden
